A method apparatus and system for efficiently transmitting and receiving channels are provided in a wireless communication system based on Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM). A multiplexing scheme differs according to a channel when a transmitter transmits a packet data channel, a common control channel and a control channel designated for a particular user. Uncoded 1-bit information is broadly dispersed in frequency and time domains using multiplexing technology for maximizing diversity gain in a channel for transmitting information of at least one bit to a particular user like an acknowledgement (ACK) channel. The transmitter converts a sequence obtained by multiplexing multiple bits to be transmitted to a plurality of users to parallel signals, and broadly disperses the parallel signals in the time and frequency domains. When the uncoded 1-bit information is transmitted, reception reliability is improved because channel coding and transmission are efficiently performed using a small amount of resources.

A hopping parameter is determined based on a sequence defined by a cell specific seed. A mirroring parameter is determined based on the sequence defined by the cell specific seed. A resource for data transmission is determined based on the resource information, the hopping parameter, and the mirroring parameter. The data is transmitted using the resource for data transmission. The hopping parameter and the mirroring parameter are determined at a slot.

Apparatus and method for allocating resources in a single carrier-frequency division multiple access system

Methods and apparatuses are provided for transmitting data by a user equipment (UE) in a communication system. Resource information is received from a node B. One of inter-subframe hopping, and intra and inter-subframe hopping, are identified. A hopping parameter is determined. A mirroring parameter is determined. A resource is determined for data transmission based on the resource information, the hopping parameter, and the mirroring parameter. The data is transmitted using the resource for data transmission. The hopping parameter and the mirroring parameter are determined at a slot, if the intra and inter-subframe hopping is identified.

Methods and apparatuses are provided for transmitting data. An index of a first resource block is obtained from a scheduling grant. A user equipment determines a value related to hopping based on a sequence generated by cell specific information. The user equipment determines a value related to mirroring based on the sequence generated by the cell specific information. The user equipment determines a second resource block for uplink transmission by the index of the first resource block, the value related to hopping, and the value related to mirroring.

Methods and apparatuses are provided for transmitting data in a subframe including two slots in a communication system. Resource allocation information is received at a UE. The UE determines a resource for data transmission based on the resource allocation information, whether hopping is enabled, whether mirroring is enabled, and whether hopping is intra-subframe and inter-subframe hopping or inter-subframe hopping. Data is transmitted via the determined resource from the UE to a Node B.

An apparatus and a method are provided for transmitting data by a UE in a communication system using SC-FDMA. An apparatus and method for allocating resources in an Single Carrier-Frequency Division Multiple Access (SC-FDMA) communication system are provided, in which a Node B determines on a cell basis whether to turn or off inter-subband hopping and whether to turn on or off mirroring for a resource unit for the UE on a frequency axis along which at least two subbands are defined, at set hopping times, selects a resource unit by selectively performing inter-subband hopping and mirroring on the resource unit for the UE according to the determination, and allocates the selected resource unit to the UE.

A method and apparatus for controlling transmission and reception of dedicated pilots according to an MCS level in a wireless communication system are provided, in which an MCS level is determined for a data channel, the amount of resources for sending dedicated pilots is determined in inverse proportion to the MCS level, a pilot channel signal including basic pilots mapped to resources allocated to a pilot channel, a control channel signal including control information mapped to resources allocated to a control channel, and a data channel signal including the dedicated pilots mapped to the determined amount of resources being part of resources allocated to the data channel and data mapped to the remaining of the resources allocated to the data channel are generated, and the pilot channel signal, the control channel signal, and the data channel signal are multiplexed and sent in the mapped resources.

Method and apparatus for controlling transmission and reception of dedicated pilots according to MCS level in a wireless communication system

A transmission/reception apparatus and method are provided for channel estimation in a mobile communication system for transmitting packet data based on FDMA, and include a transmitter for transmitting signals through a pilot channel and a control channel, and a receiver for receiving the signals of the pilot channel and the control channel and estimating a channel for demodulation of a data channel using the signal of the pilot channel and information about transmission power used when the control channel is transmitted. The receiver includes a pilot channel receiver, a control channel receiver, a control channel signal reproducer, and a channel estimator for performing channel estimation using the signals received through the pilot channel, the control channel, the signal transmitted through the control channel by the transmitter, and the information about transmission power used when the control channel is transmitted by the transmitter.
