A liquid crystal display includes a lower panel and an upper panel facing each other. A liquid crystal layer is interposed between the lower panel and the upper panel. An attachment member attaches the lower panel and the upper panel and encloses the liquid crystal layer. A gate driver is integrated on the lower panel. The gate driver generates a gate signal and includes a plurality of stages. A plurality of control signal lines transmit a control signal to the gate driver. A passivation layer is disposed on the gate driver and the plurality of control signal lines. An alignment layer is disposed on the passivation layer and completely covers the gate driver and the plurality of control signal lines. The alignment layer includes a first region and a second region connected to the first region. The second region extends to an edge of the lower panel.

Liquid crystal display and manufacturing method thereof

A display device according to an exemplary embodiment of the present invention includes: a substrate, a plurality of gate lines formed on the substrate, a plurality of data lines formed on the substrate, a plurality of switching elements connected to the gate lines and the data lines, a plurality of clock signal transmitting lines formed on the substrate, and a gate driver connected to the gate lines and the clock signal transmitting lines. A direction of each of the clock signal transmitting lines is changed approximately ninety degrees in a first region and a second region. The regions are disposed between an edge of the substrate and the gate driver. A symmetry is present between portions of the clock signal transmitting lines arranged in the first region and the second region.

A liquid crystal display device that is in a normally black mode where a screen is black when a voltage difference between a first insulating substrate and a second insulating substrate is zero, wherein a column spacer is positioned between the two substrates and the column spacer is in contact with a common voltage conductor pattern formed on the first insulating substrate and a common electrode formed on the second insulating substrate, such that a voltage difference between the common voltage conductor pattern and the common electrode is zero.

A liquid crystal display according to an exemplary embodiment of the present invention includes a substrate, a gate line formed on the substrate, a data line intersecting the gate line and including a source electrode, a drain electrode facing the source electrode, a passivation layer formed on the data line and the drain electrode, a color filter formed on the passivation layer, a cover formed on the color filter and having a contact hole exposing the drain electrode, and a pixel electrode formed on the cover and connected to the drain electrode through the contact hole, wherein the cover includes a dummy hole exposing the color filter.

Liquid crystal display

In a display substrate and a vertical alignment display panel having the same, the display panel includes an array substrate and an opposite substrate. A plurality of first slit portions are arranged through a pixel area of a common electrode on the array substrate, and the first slit portions extend in a slanted direction. A plurality of grooves and a plurality of protruding portions are alternately arranged at edges facing each other on the first slit portion, so that the first slit portions are patterned. A positive singular point is generated on a side surface of a protruding portion, and a negative singular point is generated between the positive singular points.

The present invention relates to a liquid crystal display. A liquid crystal display according to exemplary embodiments of the present invention includes a substrate, and a pixel electrode formed on the substrate and including a plurality of minute branches. The pixel electrode includes a first region and a second region where a first distance and a second distance are provided according to an interval between the respective neighboring minute branches, wherein the second distance that is larger than the first distance, and a third region is provided between the first region and the second region, and the position of the third region having an interval between the neighboring minute branches is gradually changed.

A liquid crystal display includes a substrate, a plurality of a gate line and a plurality of a data line disposed on the substrate, a plurality of a thin film transistor each connected to a gate line and a data line, a plurality of a pixel electrode each connected to a thin film transistor, a common electrode facing the pixel electrodes, and a liquid crystal layer between the pixel electrodes and the common electrode. Each of the pixel electrodes includes a first longitudinal edge adjacent to a first data line and a second longitudinal edge adjacent to a second data line adjacent to the first data line.
