A liquid crystal display substrate includes a gate line, a data line a switching element and a pixel electrode each provided in plural. The pixel electrodes include first to fourth pixel electrodes. The first pixel electrode is connected to a first gate line and a first data line. The second pixel electrode is connected to the first gate line and a second data line adjacent to the first data line. The third pixel electrode is connected to a second gate line adjacent to the first gate line and the first data line. The fourth pixel electrode is connected to the second gate line and the second data line. The first gate line overlaps the first and second pixel electrodes and the second gate line overlaps the third and fourth pixel electrodes. Sizes of the first to fourth pixel electrodes are different from one another.

Liquid crystal display substrate and liquid crystal display panel having the same

A display substrate includes an insulating substrate, a signal line, first and second pixel electrodes, a connection line and an insulating layer. The signal line is disposed on the insulating substrate. The first pixel electrode is electrically connected to the signal line through a switching element. The second pixel electrode overlaps the first pixel electrode. The connection line contacts an end portion of the signal line and extends to an end portion of the insulating substrate. The insulating layer is disposed between the first and second pixel electrodes and covers the connection line. The connection line is protected by the insulating layer, and the reliability of the display substrate is enhanced.

Display substrate and method for manufacturing the same

A display device may include an insulating substrate, a pixel electrode formed on the insulating substrate, a circuit board connected to the insulating substrate, a first wiring connected to the circuit board, and a second wiring for transmitting a signal to the pixel electrode. The second wiring may be connected to the first wiring, and the second wiring may have a larger resistance than the first wiring. Portions of the first wiring or the second wiring may include a zigzag pattern, and a swing width of a zigzag pattern of the second wiring may be varied depending on the position of the second wiring.

Display device having fanout wiring

A gate driver circuit includes a driving section and a wiring section. The wiring section receives a plurality of signals from an external device. The driving section includes a plurality of stages providing a plurality of gate lines with a gate signal. The wiring section includes first and second signal wirings. The first signal wiring is disposed adjacent to a first side of the driving section, where the first side receives the signals from the wiring section. The second signal wiring is disposed adjacent to a portion that is disposed at an outer side of the driving section and the first signal wiring. Therefore, a signal applied to the first signal wiring is prevented from being delayed by the second signal wiring. Furthermore, a distortion of signal applied to the gate driver and a maloperation of the gate driver are prevented.

Gate driver circuit and display device having the same

The present invention relates to a thin film transistor array panel and a display device including the same. A thin film transistor array panel according to an exemplary embodiment of the present invention includes: a plurality of gate lines; a plurality of pixels respectively connected to the gate lines; a gate driver comprising a plurality of stages connected to each other, the plurality of stages being respectively connected to the plurality of gate lines and applying gate signals to the plurality of gate lines; and a driver inspection unit separated from the gate driver and including at least three inspection stages, wherein each of the at least three inspection stages has a same structure as one of the plurality of stages of the gate driver.

Thin film transistor array panel having a driver inspection unit and display device including the same

A display apparatus includes a display panel including gate and data lines disposed thereon, and a plurality of driver integrated circuits ('ICs') on the display panel and electrically connected to data lines. Flexible printed circuit boards ('FPCBs') are disposed on the display panel and a printed circuit board to apply the control signal and the image signal from the printed circuit board to the driver ICs. There are less FPCBs than driver ICs. The driver ICs are divided into first and second driver groups; the data lines are divided into first and second groups of data lines. Driver ICs of the first driver group are directly connected to corresponding FPCBs, and driver ICs of the second driver group are connected to adjacent driver ICs. Each driver integrated circuit of the first driver group outputs a first repair signal to repair a data line of the first group of data lines.

Display apparatus and method of driving the same

In a display substrate and a display device having the display substrate for reducing a line resistance, the display substrate includes a plurality of pixel parts, a signal line part and a signal pad part. The pixel parts are formed in a display area. The signal line part is formed in a peripheral area surrounding the display area. The signal line part includes a first line formed with a first conductive layer, and a second line formed with a second conductive layer over the first line. The second line overlaps the first line. The signal pad part includes a first pad integrally formed with the first line, and a second pad integrally formed with the second line, wherein an identical driving signal is applied to the first pad and the second pad. Accordingly, the line resistance of the signal line part may be reduced.

Display substrate and display device having the same

A display substrate includes source lines, gate lines, an output pad part, a fan-out part and a first voltage line part. The source lines are in a display area. The gate lines cross the source lines. The output pad part is in a peripheral area surrounding the display area and is electrically connected to output terminals of a driving chip. The fan-out part is electrically connected between the output pad part and the source lines. The first voltage line part is inclined with respect to a central line of a chip area in which the driving chip is mounted toward opposite sides of the chip area to cross the fan-out part. Therefore, the line reactance of the fan-out part is decreased and the uniformity of the line resistance of the fan-out part is increased to improve image display quality.

The present invention relates to a thin film transistor (TFT) substrate and method of making such a TFT substrate. The structure of the TFT substrate helps prevent damage to signal lines in non-display areas.
