Combinational networks may provide simultaneous connectivity over networks of different network types between user equipment. A communication session, comprising a circuit switched call and one or more packet switched sessions, may be deployed simultaneously over different network types, in relation to the same user equipment. The circuit switched call and the packet switched session can be correlated, in which case the communication session is regarded as a combinational session. By introducing a number of logical databases that contain actual data on network addresses and communication sessions, a correlation check is deployed applied by a correlation node. The check consists of a number of queries towards said databases or to other network entities, yielding whether the communication session is to be regarded as combinational. The result of the check may e.g. be deployed in an on-line combinational charging system.

Method and system for providing information of related communication sessions in hybrid telecommunication networks

Combinational networks may provide simultaneous connectivity over networks of different type between terminals. Communication sessions on different network types such as Circuit switched and Packet switched, belonging to the same user equipment can be correlated. In case a communication session on a circuit switched network is halted by a supplementary service e.g. at an event such as acceptance of Call Hold, a communication session on a correlated packet switched network should be halted as well. A user equipment that detects the event sends a halt message to the circuit switched network and a message to the packet switched network or a session state manager node. The session state manager node either forwards the halt-message to the packet switched network, or sends a halt-message to the packet switched network when the packet switched network does not notify that a halt has occurred.

Method and device for session control in hybrid telecommunications network

Method of and arrangement for associating voice clips with a document, the document being reviewed by at least one participant during a telephone conference set up between a convener communication set (T, C) and one or more participant communication sets (T-T, C-C), where the voice clips contain spoken comments by the participants. The voice clips associated with locations in a section of the document synchronized in time such that each voice clip is associated with a certain location in the section and contains speech that was spoken by the participant at the 10 time that the image of the section was shown to the participant.

Method and arrangement for capturing of voice during a telephone conference

A method and apparatus for providing an indication, in a system which uses a gateway location register to reduce signaling between visitor location registers and home location registers, to a home location register of the features not supported by a visitor location register. The indication of the features not supported by the visitor location register can be provided to the home location register during a location update message exchange or a data restoration request message exchange. The indication can also be provided in an information update message.

Support for features associated with a subscriber in networks with a gateway location register

A gateway location register (GLR) can restore data by sending a reset message to all of the visitor location registers (VLR) associated with the GLR. Alternatively, the data in the GLR can be restored when a request for a roaming number is sent to the GLR from a home location register (HLR). In any case the location information is restored from the VLR and the subscriber profile from the HLR. If the GLR has a backup memory, the GLR can forward a request for a roaming number to a VLR which is indicated by the backup memory as serving the mobile subscriber associated with the roaming number request received from the HLR. If the information contained in the backup memory is incorrect, the GLR can send a request to restore data to all VLRs associated with the GLR. Further, the GLR, upon receipt of a roaming number request for a subscriber whose serving VLR is unknown, the GLR can send an error indication to the HLR and wait for a location update from a serving VLR. In addition, if the backup data is incorrect or non-existent, the GLR can send a request for a roaming number to all its associated VLRs which have not yet received the request.

Gateway location register fault recovery

Subscriber data in a Super-charged network is handled in a network including a home network entity containing information regarding subscriber in the network and one or more visitor network entities containing subscriber to other networks. A subscriber profile in a visitor network entity may be updated if necessary, and if certain conditions are met. The profile may be updated by sending modifications from the home network entity to the visitor network entity. Depending on the amount of time that has elapsed since the contact of the subscriber and the network, the subscriber's identity may be unallocated. If the subscriber's record is purged from a visitor network entity, an indication of this may be recorded in the home network entity.

Methods and systems for handling subscriber data

A method and apparatus for providing regional subscription data in a network where a gateway location register is serving networks in more than one country. Further, regional subscription information is also provided where a gateway location register serves a plurality of networks in the same country. Administration of regional subscription restriction in a network that includes a gateway location register

A method and apparatus for home location register fault recovery in a system which uses a gateway location register to reduce signaling between visitor location registers and home location registers. When a home location register is recovering from a fault, the home location register sends a reset message to the gateway location registers which are serving mobile subscribers associated with the home location register. The gateway location register sends a reset message to visitor location registers which are serving mobile subscribers associated with the home location register. The gateway location register can determine which mobile subscribers are associated with the home location register by comparing mobile subscriber identification information stored in the gateway location register with information contained in the reset message from the home location register.

Home location register fault recovery

Response-timer problems due to optional features in communication networks are addressed by having a node such as an MSC/VLR that uses the optional feature promptly respond to another node's request for information with a message indicating that the node has implemented the optional feature. This indication can be implemented either as a new message or as a suitable information element in a message already usually sent from one node to the other. Upon receiving such a prompt response, the node would adjust its response-monitoring timer to a value appropriate for the optional feature. Nodes in the communication network may also generate messages indicating that they implement the optional feature.
