An image recording apparatus, having a discharging head, a fan, and a controller, is provided. The discharging head includes a discharging surface and a plurality of nozzles arranged along a sub-scanning direction, which intersects orthogonally with a main scanning direction. The discharging head is configured to move in the main scanning direction. The fan is configured to generate an airflow for collecting mist of ink discharged through the nozzles. The controller is configured to obtain a droplet size of the ink to be discharged through the nozzles from one of a print job and a printing mode set in advance, obtain a distance between the discharging surface and a printable medium, and control a rotation speed of the fan based on the droplet size and the distance.

A test chip includes a substrate, a lid member, a separation portion, a first flow path, and a first holding portion. The substrate includes a surface on which a flow path is formed. The lid member covers the surface of the substrate. By centrifugal force, the separation portion separates components of a test object liquid into a separated component and a residual component having a larger specific gravity than a specific gravity of the separated component. The first flow path guides the separated component from the separation portion to a receiving portion. The first holding portion holds at least part of the residual component overflowing from the separation portion in a case where the separated component separated in the separation portion is moved from the separation portion to the receiving portion. The first holding portion is connected to at least one of the separation portion and the first flow path.

Test chip

A display medium includes a pair of substrates, a spacer, an injection port, and an exhaust port. The pair of substrates faces to be in parallel with each other. At least one of the pair of substrates constitutes a display surface. The spacer is disposed between the pair of substrates to form a fluid chamber together with the pair of substrates. The fluid chamber encapsulates a fluid material and has a polygonal shape in a cross section taken parallel to the display surface. The polygonal shape has two acute corners each having an angle greater than 0&#xb0; and no greater than 75&#xb0;. The fluid material flows in accordance with electric fields generated between the pair of substrates to display images on the display surface. The fluid material is injected into the fluid chamber through the injection port. Air in the fluid chamber is exhausted outside the fluid chamber through the exhaust port. A distance between one of the injection port and the exhaust port and one of the two acute corners as viewed from a direction orthogonal to the substrate is equal to or smaller than 5 mm.
