A method for color matching using a combination of two or more powder coatings having different colors from each other to give a target color, wherein lightness, blending weight ratio and volume-average particle size of the powder coatings to be combined satisfy the following formula (I):and a method for preparing a coating film comprising applying powder coatings combined by the above method to a substrate. According to this method, since a coating film having homogeneous color with low mottling is obtained from two or more powder coatings having different colors from each other, the method can be used as a simplified process for color matching using the powder coatings requiring only a few primary color powder coatings to be furnished.

Method for color matching using powder coatings

A combination of powder coatings usable in a powder coating method for forming a coating film having visually homogeneous hue by mixing two or more powder coatings of which each color is different. In the combination of powder coatings, each of differences in triboelectric charges of two or more powder coatings is 5.0 &#x3bc;C/g or less. The coating method usable herein includes the step of applying onto a substrate to be coated two or more powder coatings of which each color is different, in which the triboelectric charges are controlled in the above given ranges.

Combining differently colored powder coatings which heat-cure to homogeneous hue

While plural kind of powder paints of different hues are mixed with each other without melting for preparation of a powder paint of a desire hue, a fluidity improver possessing a charge control function is simultaneously mixed into the powder paints without melting. The mixed powder paint containing the fluidity improver is charged, and then electrostatic powder coating is performed by the charged powder paint.

Method and apparatus for electrostatic powder coating

The powder coating for use in a coating method which includes the steps of mixing and applying two or more powder coatings to a substrate, the powder coating comprising a resin not having thermosetting properties at a temperature of 160.degree. C. or less by itself, and being heat-cured at a temperature of 160.degree. C. or less when used in combination with other powder coatings. A plurality of linear elements or meshed elements are arranged in a powder paint transportation path in an electrostatic powder coating gun. The materials of the linear elements and meshed elements are capable of charging the powder paint by static electricity generated by friction between the powder paint and the elements.

The thermosetting coating composition in a powdery form, includes (a) a binder resin prepared by the steps comprising preparing a starting material monomer mixture of two different polymerization reactions, each of the polymerization reaction being carried out in an independent reaction path, and then concurrently carrying out both of the two different polymerization reactions in one reaction vessel; (b) a colorant; and (c) a crosslinking agent. The coating film is prepared by curing the above thermosetting coating composition.

The developer composition for electrostatic latent images includes a toner and a carrier, the toner including (a) a binder resin comprising a polyester resin having an acid value of from 0 to 10 KOH mg/g; (b) a wax; and (c) a colorant. In the developer composition, the wax is dispersed in the toner with a length to diameter ratio of from 2 to 15.

Developer composition for electrostatic latent images

A method for producing an encapsulated toner for heat-and-pressure fixing including the step of forming a heat-fusible core material containing at least a thermoplastic resin and a shell, the shell being formed so as to coat surfaces of the heat-fusible core material with an amorphous polyester by in situ polymerization. In this method, a pH of a suspension during polymerization is adjusted to a range of 9 to 13, and an acid value of the amorphous polyester is from 0.1 to 15 KOH mg/g.

Encapsulated toner for heat-and-pressure fixing and method for producing

A toner for developing an electrostatic latent image including a binder resin, a colorant, and a modified polysiloxane having the general formula (1): ##STR1## In the above general formula, R.sup.1 to R.sup.4, which may be identical or different, each stands for an alkyl group having 1 to 6 carbon atoms, a phenyl group, or a naphthyl group; R.sup.5 and R.sup.6, which may be identical or different, each stands for a linear or branched, saturated hydrocarbon group having an average number of carbon atoms of from 16 to 600; and n and m each stands for a number of zero (0) or more.

Toner for developing electrostatic latent image

A developer composition comprising a carrier, whose surface layer comprises a silicone resin having a urethane bond, and a toner, which is little affected by environmental factors, so that it can develop good electrostatic latent images even under low-temperature and low-humidity conditions and under high-temperature and high-humidity conditions, to give high-quality prints.

A toner composition is obtained by the dispersion polymerization of a monomer in the presence of a charge-controlling agent, a colorant and a specified dispersant of a higher fatty acid salt of a long-chain alkyl or hydroxyalkyl amine, a polyoxyalkene-phenyl or alkylphenyl-ether or a polyethyleneimine. The toner composition is useful for developing an electrostatic image in an electrophotographic process and the like.
