A medical device is disclosed which can suppress torsion of a wire in a circumferential direction in an expansion body formed using the wire. The medical device includes an elongated shaft portion, and an expansion body disposed in a distal portion of the shaft portion, the expansion body configured to expand and contract in a radial direction. The expansion body has wire portions in which a distal portion and a proximal portion are linked with the shaft portion, and a holding portion formed using at least one of the wire portions, and holding a biological tissue. At least one of a proximal side and a distal side of the holding portion has an opening portion formed using a wire portion or formed using a plurality of the wire portions. When the expansion body expands, the wire portion forming the holding portion faces the opening portion.

Medical device

A medical device for crushing an object in a body lumen, the medical device including: an elongated shaft portion rotatably driven; a crushing unit provided with bendable wire rods and rotatable together with the shaft portion; and a sliding unit fixed to each of end portion of the wire rods on at least one of a distal side of and a proximal side of the wire rods and is interlocked with the shaft portion so as to be slidable in an axial direction of the shaft portion. The shaft portion is provided with contact portions that come into contact with the sliding unit during rotation and limit relative rotation of the shaft portion and the sliding unit. After the sliding unit is attached to the contact portions, the sliding unit rotates in the same direction as the shaft portion along with the rotation of the shaft portion.

Medical device and treatment method for crushing object in body lumen

A medical device is disclosed, which is capable of preventing a maintenance treatment element imparting energy to biological tissue from being displaced from a treatment target site and a treatment method performed on a heart failure patient. A medical device is disclosed, which includes a shaft portion, an expandable and contractible expansion body provided on a distal side of the shaft portion, and a maintenance treatment element disposed in the expansion body and imparting energy to biological tissue. The expansion body includes a concave portion recessed in a direction intersecting with an axial direction of the shaft portion. The maintenance treatment element is disposed in the concave portion.

Medical device and treatment method

A medical device and a treatment method, in which energy is accurately applied to a target site by suppressing a positional displacement between an expansion body and a biological tissue. The medical device includes an elongated shaft portion and an expansion body disposed in a distal portion of the shaft portion and configured to expand and contract in a radial direction. The expansion body includes a holding portion having a proximal side holding portion and a distal side holding portion configured to hold the biological tissue, and a movable portion configured to open and close the holding portion.

A PFO closing device for bringing the septum primum and the septum secundum into contact with each other and joining them together includes a clamping mechanism and energy supplying device. The clamping mechanism includes a needle part for puncturing the septum primum, and a clamping member for cooperating with the needle part in clamping therebetween tissue of the septum primum and the septum secundum. The energy supplying device supplies energy for joining the tissues clamped by the needle part and the clamping member. The clamping mechanism is mounted in a catheter so as to be protrudable from and retractable into the catheter.

PFO closing device

Provided is a defect-closure device which is surely retainable in a predetermined position to close a passage-like defect in a living body. The device may have a free enlargement-contraction first member mounted so as to close an opening at the one end of the defect; and a free enlargement-contraction second member having a protruded member, which extends from a joint part jointed to the first member, and protrudes from an opening at the other end in an axis direction of the defect. The first member is elastically contacted to the opening by elastically contacting a protrusion part of a second member to the inner surface of an edge of the opening.

Defect-closure device and delivery apparatus

A biological tissue closing device includes a clamper comprising a stick portion provided at a distal portion of a catheter for sticking to a biological tissue, and a sandwich member for sandwiching the biological tissue in cooperation with the stick portion, and an electric energy supply unit for supplying electric energy to the clamper. The biological tissue is fused by making the stick portion and the sandwich member of the clamper be electrode members, by sandwiching the biological tissue with the clamper and by supplying electric energy from the electric energy supply unit, wherein the clamper is configured so that each of the stick portion and the sandwich member are movable independently with respect to the catheter.

Biological tissue closing device

A PFO closing device includes a suction and hold portion at a distal portion of a catheter for sucking and holding biological tissue of a foramen ovale valve and an atrial septum secundum from one side, an electrode portion on the side contacting the biological tissue; a negative pressure supply unit for applying negative pressure to the suctional portion and hold portion, a hold mechanism adapted to protrude from the distal tip of the catheter, and be inserted into the foramen ovale to hold the foramen ovale valve while pressing it from the other side and an energy supply unit for supplying energy to the electrode portion. Energy is supplied from the energy supply unit to the electrode portion, and the foramen ovale valve and the atrial septum secundum are mutually fused together.

A device for treating a patent foramen ovale has a first part having a predetermined length; a second part having a predetermined length; a third part having a predetermined length; and a pulling member which penetrates into the second part from a side face of a distal portion of the second part, crosses the second cylindrical part obliquely and extends from a side face of a proximal portion of the second part and penetrates into the third part from a side face of a distal portion of the third part, with one end of the pulling member held by a proximal portion of the first part. A part of a locking mechanism provided at other end of the pulling member and a part of the locking mechanism provided at the third part are locked to each other, when the pulling member is pulled to allow the first part and the second part proximate to each other and the second part and the third part to be proximate to each other.

Device for treating a patent foramen ovale

A blood vessel extroverting instrument used to turn an end of a blood vessel inside out. The instrument has a contact portion to be brought into contact with an end of a blood vessel, a supporting portion on which the contact portion is supported, and an operating mechanism for increasing and reducing the diameter of the contact portion. At least two portions of the end of the blood vessel in the radial direction can be simultaneously expanded and/or reversed by operating the operating mechanism. Therefore the blood vessel extroverting instrument provided by the present invention is capable of easily turning an end of a blood vessel inside out in a short time without damaging the blood vessel.

Instrument for extroverting blood vessel

A method of end-to-side anastomosis of blood vessels for connecting a side portion of a first blood vessel to an end portion of a second blood vessel involves holding a first site on the side portion of the first blood vessel using a holder, and partially elevating the side portion of the first blood vessel; superimposing a second site on the side portion of the first blood vessel on the end of the second blood vessel and fixing them with a ring-shaped fixing member to each other; and detaching the holder from the first blood vessel when they are fixed by the fixing member or after they are fixed. The end-to-side blood vessel anastomosis method can readily open the dissected portion on the side of the blood vessel upon end-to-side blood vessel anastomosis and retain it in that state. No foreign matter is present within the blood vessel after completion of the anastomosis.
