A surface fastener formed of a synthetic resin and in which a base with a 0.1 to 0.9 mm thickness and engagement element groups including engagement elements with a 0.2 to 0.8 mm protrusion height are integrally molded, and engagement element rows are composed of the plural engagement elements arranged in a row direction and each protruding independently. A cushioning member is covered with a covering member via the surface fastener. A resistance value of the surface fastener by itself as measured by a handle-o-meter method conforming to the JIS L 1096 E method is 80 to 150 g, whereas a load-deflection characteristic when a pressure is applied to an overlapping portion of the stacked surface fastener and cushioning member by a pressure plate with a 30 mm diameter approximates a similarly measured load-deflection characteristic of the cushioning member by itself.

Surface fastener, cushioning structure, and seat structure

A loop surface fastener in which numerous looped engaging elements formed from loop yarns inserted in parallel to ground warp yarns are provided upright on one side of a base fabric formed from ground warp yarns and ground weft yarns satisfies all the following requirements 1) to 3). 1) The loop yarn is a multi-filament yarn formed by bundling 5 to 9 filaments of 30 to 45 decitex. 2) The density of the looped engaging elements is in a range of 100 to 200/cm. 3) Loop surfaces of the looped engaging elements are substantially facing in the same direction and the loop surface facing direction is a ground weft yarn direction.

Loop surface fastener having excellent positioning function

A fabric surface fastener including a hook surface fastener (A) including hook-like engagement elements made of a monofilament yarn on a surface of a base fabric, and a loop surface fastener (B) including loop-like engagement elements made of a multifilament yarn on a surface of a base fabric, the loop-like engagement elements being engageable with the hook-like engagement elements. The monofilament yarn is a monofilament yarn made of polybutylene terephthalate polyester resin and having certain diameter. The multifilament yarn is a multifilament yarn made of polybutylene terephthalate polyester resin. A density of the hook-like engagement elements and a density of the loop-like engagement elements are in a certain range. The density of the hook-like engagement elements is higher than the density of the loop-like engagement elements. A ground warp yarn composing the base fabrics is a multifilament yarn made of polyethylene terephthalate polyester.

Hook-and-loop fastener made of fabric

Provided is a fusion-bondable surface fastener which includes a surface fastener and a fusion-bondable film partly fixed to the surface fastener. The surface fastener includes a base fabric made of a knitted or woven fabric and has fastening elements outwardly extending from base fabric, where the base fabric has a first region, a second region and a third region each of which have fastening elements. In the first region, the fastening elements are overlaid with the fusion-bondable film and the fusion-bondable film is fusion-bonded to the surface fastener. In the second region the fastening elements are overlaid with the fusion-bondable film and the fusion-bondable film is not fusion-bonded to the surface fastener In the third region the fastening elements are not overlaid with the fusion-bondable film. The first region and the second region form a fusion-bondable area.

Fusion-bondable hook-and-loop fastener

A hook surface fastener excellent in the heat resistance, flame resistance, retention of hook shape, and pull-out resistance of hook engaging elements (fibers). The hook surface fastener is composed of a base fabric and the hook engaging elements formed on the base fabric. The base fabric is a woven fabric composed of warp yarns, weft yarns and fibers constituting the hook engaging elements. The warp yarns and the fibers constituting the hook engaging elements are polyphenylene sulfide fibers. The weft yarns are substantially non-twisted, paralleled yarns of polyphenylene sulfide fibers and heat-fusible fibers having a melting point or softening point each being 230&#xb0; C. or lower. The polyphenylene sulfide fibers constituting the hook engaging elements have a crystal orientation of 85.0 to 90.0% and a crystallinity of 32.0 to 42.0% so that the retention of hook shape is good. The fibers constituting the hook engaging elements are anchored to the base fabric by fusion of the heat-fusible fibers. Therefore, the pull-out resistance of the hook engaging elements (fibers) is good even if a resin coat layer is substantially not provided on the back surface of the base fabric. A hook surface fastener substantially free from the resin coat layer has a good heat resistance and flame resistance.

Hook surface fastener

A fabric separable fastener member is provided which comprises a fiber for a base fabric and a fiber for a fastening element firmly anchored by the fused fiber for the base fabric and which is excellent in flexibility and durability without a back-coated layer. The separable fastener member comprises (&#x3b1;1) a ground warp, (&#x3b1;2) a ground weft containing a binder fiber, and (&#x3b1;3) a pile yarn, and the pile yarn (&#x3b1;3) is anchored by the fused binder fiber. In the separable fastener member, each of the ground warp (&#x3b1;1), the ground weft (&#x3b1;2) and the pile yarn (&#x3b1;3) comprises a polyester fiber, the mass ratio of the ground warp (a1) relative to the ground weft (a2) is 40/60 to 80/20, and the mass ratio of the total amount of the ground warp (a1) and the ground weft (a2) relative to the pile yarn (a3) is 90/10 to 50/50.

An aqueous resin composition satisfying the following criteria (I)&#x2013;(III). (I) The aqueous resin composition contains (a) an aqueous dispersion of a polyurethane resin obtained from a macromolecular polyol, organic polyisocyanate, chain extending agent and 2,2-dimethylolbutanoic acid, and, if required, (b) an aqueous dispersion of an acrylic resin. (II) When the resin comprising this aqueous resin composition contains mainly a polyurethane resin, the inherent viscosity (&#x3b7;) of the polyurethane resin measured at a concentration of 0.5 g/dL in dimethylformamide solution is in the range of 0.2&#x2013;0.7 dL/g. After this aqueous resin composition is dried, the elastic modulus at 25&#xb0; C. of the film obtained by heat treatment at 80&#xb0; C. for 8 hours is in the range of 8.0&#xd7;10&#x2013;5.0&#xd7;10Pa, and the elastic modulus at 80&#xb0; C. is 8.0&#xd7;10Pa or less. When this aqueous resin composition is used to treat fibrous sheets, it gives fibrous products having excellent performance and durability without any problem regarding safety, hygiene or pollution, and, when it is used as a back coating resin for a separable fastener, a separable fastener is obtained having excellent resistance to fiber dropout in washing and resistance to chlorine bleaching agents, together with good durability over very long periods of use.

Aqueous resin composition, and method of manufacturing a separable fastener using this composition

A flexible hook fastener member having a hook density of 80 to 200 per cm and causing little damage to cooperating loop fastening elements. The loops for forming hook fastening elements are produced by thin monofilaments having a fineness of 100 to 200 deniers. The monofilament for forming the hook fastening elements are in reverse phase relation to the adjacent ground warps with respect to the ground wefts.

Hook fastener member to minimize damage to loops

Provided is mixed hook/loop separable fasteners comprising a base fabric provided on one surface thereof intermixedly with a multiplicity of hook-like fastening elements and a multiplicity of loop-like fastening elements; said hook-like fastening elements having a height of 1.3 to 3.8 mm and said loop-like fastening elements having a height of 1.5 to 4 mm and larger by 0.2 to 2.0 mm than the height of said hook-like fastening elements, and said hook-like fastening elements and loop-like fastening elements being provided in a density of 40 to 120 pieces/cm.sup.2 with the ratio of the number of said hook-like fastening elements to the total being 40 to 60%. Also provided are process for producing the above separable fasteners, as well as their use.

Mixed hook/loop separable fastener and process for its production

A male separable fastening component has a base and, provided thereon, a multiplicity of independent fastening elements, the fastening elements each comprising a bundle of raised fibers with a grape cluster-like aggregate of swollen heads consolidated together by fusion of the fiber ends and a trunk having a shape tightening at the root and broadening towards the swollen heads-aggregate; and a separable fastener utilizes this type separable fastening component.

Mixed hook/loop separable fasteners comprise a base fabric provided on one surface thereof intermixedly with a multiplicity of hook-like fastening elements and a multiplicity of loop-like fastening elements. The hook-like fastening elements having a height of 1.3 to 3.8 mm and the loop-like fastening elements have a height of 1.5 to 4 mm and larger by 0.2 to 2.0 mm than the height of the hook-like fastening elements. The hook-like fastening elements and loop-like fastening elements being provided in a density of 40 to 120 pieces/cm.sup.2. Also provided is a process for producing the above separable fasteners, as well as their use.

Described herein is a male fastener strip having a multitude of hooking elements on one side of substrate cloth, which is characterized in that the individual hooking elements are spaced from adjacent hooking elements by X(mm) and Y(mm) in the transverse and longitudinal directions of the fastener strip, respectively, such that X is between 2.0 and 4.0 mm, inclusive and X/Y is in the range of 0.5 to 3.5.
