In a connector with substrate, a compression connector pressed against and connected to a connection target object and a substrate are attached via a cage. The connector with substrate includes a substrate; a cage fixed on the substrate; and a compression connector inserted into the cage and including contacts that are in contact with the substrate, a housing to which the contacts are fixed, and a cover shell that covers an upper surface portion of the housing. The cage or the compression connector includes an elastic body that applies an elastic force for fixing the compression connector to the cage.

Connector with substrate

A compression connector is fixed to a substrate with a small motion. In a connector with substrate, a compression connector pressed against and connected to a connection target object and a substrate are attached. The connector with substrate includes a substrate including a hole; and a compression connector disposed on the substrate and including contacts that are in contact with the substrate, a housing to which the contacts are fixed, and a cover shell that has a top surface disposed in parallel to the substrate and a vertical surface vertically extending to the substrate from the top surface, and that covers an upper surface portion of the housing. The vertical surface includes at least one fixing part at a substrate side, piercing through the hole formed in the substrate, and functioning as slip-off prevention for the compression corrector with respect to the substrate.

Connector

To prevent both increase in impedance and a short circuit, a connector cable is configured such that a connector and a shielded cable are connected via a relay substrate. The shielded cable includes at least an inner conductor, a dielectric covering the inner conductor, and a shield member covering the dielectric. The inner conductor is connected to a contact of the connector at a part where the shield member and the dielectric are removed to expose the inner conductor. At least directly under a part where the shield member is removed to expose the dielectric, a ground (GND) conductor layer on a front surface of the relay substrate is arranged. The GND conductor layer on the front surface of the relay substrate, which is arranged directly under the part where the shield member is removed, is covered with an insulating member.

A housing of a connector has end faces at both ends thereof in a pitch direction. The end faces correspond to protruding blocks of a mating connector, respectively. Two guide members are distinct and separated from each other. Each of the guide members has a side portion and two supporting portions. The guide members correspond to the end faces, respectively. Accordingly, the side portion and the supporting portions correspond to one of the end faces. The side portion is located apart from the end face corresponding thereto in the pitch direction. The side portion, the supporting portions and the end face corresponding to the side portion form a receiving portion. The receiving portion guides and receives the protruding block corresponding to the end face forming the receiving portion when the connector and the mating connector are mated with each other.

A housing of a connector has an end face in a perpendicular direction perpendicular to an up-down direction. A side portion of a guide member is apart from the end face of the housing. The end face of the housing, the side portion of the guide member and supporting portions of the guide member form a receiving portion which guides and receives a protruding block of a mating connector. When the connector is mounted on a substrate, the side portion and the supporting portions are apart from the substrate. Outside the end face of the housing in the perpendicular direction and under the side portion and the supporting portions in the up-down direction, a lower space is formed to communicate with the receiving portion. The guide membersis not located in the lower spacesat all.

A connector assembly comprises a connector and a mating connector. The connector is attachable with a connecting object having a sheet-like shape. The connecting object has a wiring layer, a conductive layer and an insulator. The wiring layer includes at least one trace. The trace has a first contact portion. The conductive layer has at least two second contact portions. The connector is mateable with the mating connector along a first direction. The mating connector comprises at least one mating first terminal and at least two mating second terminals. Under a mated state where the connector in the attached state is mated with the mating connector, the first contact portion is positioned between two of the mating second terminals in a second direction perpendicular to the first direction. The second contact portions are brought into contact with the mating second terminals, respectively, under the mated state.

Connector assembly

A connecting object is used for connection to a device. The connecting object has a sheet-like shape. The device has at least two ground pins and at least one signal pin. The at least one signal pin is arranged between two of the ground pins in a pitch direction. The connecting object has a wiring layer, a shield layer and an insulator. The wiring layer is formed with only a signal line which is configured to be connected with the signal pin. The wiring layer is formed with no ground line which is configured to be connected with the ground pin. The shield layer covers the wiring layer via the insulator which is positioned between the shield layer and the wiring layer.

Connecting object, connector and harness

A plug as a connector includes a first wiring board, a second wiring board, a plate-shaped ground plate which is provided between the first and the second wiring boards and which includes a first contact point to be brought into contact with first and second ground conductors of the first and the second wiring boards, and a first insulator for holding the first and the second wiring boards, and the ground plate. The first insulator covers at least a part of each of five portions including distal end portions, both side end portions, and two main surface portions, which face outward, of a whole of the first wiring board, the second wiring board, and the ground plate, and holds the ground plate under a pressing state. A portion of at least one side end portion of the ground plate is exposed to the outside of the first insulator.

Connector and connector assembly

A connector cage that makes a spring member difficult to be broken when a mating connector is fitted. The connector cage includes a cage body that has a reception portion for receiving a mating connector therein, a partition member that partitions the reception portion in a left-right direction of the cage body, and a spring member that is arranged at a front end of the partition member in a front-rear direction, and is brought into contact with the mating connector. A first hole is formed which is a through hole extending through the cage body in an up-down direction. The spring member includes a spring member-side protruding portion which is inserted through the first hole, and is connected to the cage body.

Connector cage and connector including same

A connector that is difficult to be released from a state fitted to a mating connector when an unexpected external force acts on the connector, and is removed from the mating connector with a small operating force when intentionally releasing the fitted state. An unlocking member of the connector for releasing this connector from the fitted state includes a releasing portion for releasing an elastic locking portion of the mating connector from a state caught by a catching portion of a connector body fitted to the mating connector, and a sliding portion for sliding on the connector body. The connector body includes a supporting portion for slidably supporting the sliding portion. A guide surface is formed on the supporting portion for guiding the sliding portion such that the releasing portion is displaced toward the elastic locking portion, to thereby release the caught state.

A cable connection structural body is used for connecting a multi-core cable having a plurality of signal lines to a substrate, and the cable connection structural body includes a substrate fixation portion that is fixed to the substrate, and a cable holding portion that forms a space passing the plurality of signal lines therethrough between the cable holding portion and a surface of the substrate when the substrate fixation portion is fixed to the substrate.

A connector is mountable on a mount object in an up-down direction and connectable with a mating connector along a predetermined direction perpendicular to the up-down direction. The mating connector comprises a mating fitting portion and a male screw member. The connector comprises a fitting portion and a screw end accommodation portion. The fitting portion is mateable with the mating fitting portion. The screw end accommodation portion defines an accommodation space which accommodates an end of the male screw member when the connector is connected with the mating connector. The screw end accommodation portion has at least a front surface portion, an upper surface portion, a rear surface portion and an outer surface portion. The front surface portion is provided with a female screw portion which is connectable with the male screw member. The accommodation space is positioned between the front surface portion and the rear surface portion in the predetermined direction.

A connector includes a connector main, a male screw member and a screw holding member. The connector main selectively connectable with a mating connector having a female screw portion and another mating connector having no female screw portion in a predetermined direction. The screw holding member holds the male screw member. The screw holding member has a male screw seat which is brought into contact with a female screw seat when the male screw member is connected with the female screw portion. The screw holding member is attached to the connector main and relatively moveable with respect to the connector main in the predetermined direction.
