A sewing machine presser foot includes a support part having a support base member, and a roller part including a plurality of rotating members rotatably supported at the support base member and having different diameters so that the roller part is conical as a whole. Each of the plurality of rotating members individually rotates and presses a fabric to be sewn.

A presser foot vertical drive device includes an upper shaft configured to vertically drive a needle, a presser foot drive cam fixed to the upper shaft, a presser foot urged downward over a needle plate, a cam follower configured to be vertically driven in contact with the presser foot drive cam, and a link configured to transmit the vertical drive of the cam follower to the presser foot. The presser foot drive cam includes a plurality of drive cams having cam surfaces for different presser foot vertical drive patterns. The cam follower includes a switching unit for selection of one drive cam from the presser foot drive cam.

A zigzag width range setting apparatussets a minimum value and a maximum value of a zigzag width of a needle. When the sewing machine is in operation, if the minimum value of the zigzag width preset by the zigzag width range setting apparatusis higher than 0, a zigzag action is performed in a minimum zigzag width at no operation of a knee lifter(an amount of operation of zero), and if the minimum value is 0, the zigzag width of the needleis 0 at zero amount of operation of the knee lifter, that is the zigzag action is not performed, and stitching is performed by moving the needlewidthwise in accordance with the amount of operation of the knee lifter. If the maximum value is changed by the zigzag width range setting apparatusduring the sewing machine stitch action, zigzag stitch in accordance with the changed maximum zigzag width is performed.
