An optical stack includes: a light scattering film converting light received at a light receiving surface into scattering light therein and then outputting the scattering light outside from a light output surface, and a sheet provided on the light output surface side of the light scattering film. The light scattering film includes: a functional layer formed of a light-transmissive composition including an organic polymer compound and light scattering particles. The functional layer includes a first surface receiving the light and a second surface from which the scattering light is output. The functional layer includes a particle layer formed of light scattering particles having a content of 60% by volume or higher among the light scattering particles, the particle layer expanding along the first surface and being concentrated in a direction perpendicular to the first surface.

Optical stack and liquid crystal display apparatus

A liquid crystal display apparatus, includes: a light-condensing backlight unit; a liquid crystal panel including a first linear polarizer and a second linear polarizer; a light scattering film facing the second linear polarizer; and a third linear polarizer facing the light scattering film. The light scattering film includes a functional layer including an organic polymer compound and light scattering particles. The functional layer includes a particle layer in which a fraction of 60% by volume to 100% by volume of the light scattering particles included in the functional layer expands along a surface of the particle layer at which the light output from the liquid crystal panel is received, and the particle layer is concentrated to a region having a thickness of 1 to 80% of a total thickness of the functional layer, in a direction perpendicular to the contact surface.

Liquid crystal display apparatus comprising a light scattering film having a functional layer containing light scattering particles

A liquid crystal display apparatus according to an embodiment of the present invention includes a first substrate, a second substrate, and a liquid crystal layer, and has a display region defined by a plurality of pixels. The first substrate has a pixel electrode provided in each of the plurality of pixels. The second substrate has a first, a second, and a third color filter having a striped pattern extending in a first direction, and a light blocking layer. The display region includes a first and a second region spaced apart from each other in a second direction generally perpendicular to the first direction, and a third region located between the first and second regions and including the center of the display region. The light blocking layer includes, in each of the first, second, and third regions, a plurality of first light blocking portions extending in the first direction, and a plurality of second light blocking portions extending in the second direction. In each of the first and second regions, a width of the first light blocking portion is greater than a width of each of the plurality of second light blocking portions. In the third region, a width of the second light blocking portion is greater than a width of the first light blocking portion.

Liquid crystal display device

A liquid crystal panel according to an embodiment of the present invention comprises: a liquid crystal layer containing liquid crystal molecules; a first alignment film in contact with a front surface of the liquid crystal layer; and a second alignment film in contact with a rear surface of the liquid crystal layer, the liquid crystal panel being curved in the shape of a cylindrical surface. The first alignment film includes a plurality of first strip portions extending along a first direction and causing the liquid crystal molecules to be aligned. The second alignment film includes a plurality of second strip portions extending along a second direction and causing the liquid crystal molecules to be aligned. The first direction is a peripheral direction of the cylindrical surface. The second direction is a direction which crosses the peripheral direction.

[Problem] To provide a chain link which can improve wear resistance even under lubricating conditions in adhesive mode. [Solution] Steel link platesfor a silent chain having pinholesfor inserting linking pinsare formed. A hardened layer obtained by performing heat treatment (martempering, for example) is formed on the inner circumferential surface of the pinholes, and a large number of hard particles hp having the same hardness as or a greater hardness than the surface hardness of said hardened layer are dotted in a crystalline state within the martensite structure on the surface layer section of the hardened layer. The hard particles hp are an oxide, carbide or nitride of any element from Cr, V, Ti and Nb which was originally present in the steel of the link plate material.

Problem. To provide a chain pin which makes it possible to improve wear resistance even in an environment in which degraded oil is used. Solution. A large number of pins are mixed/agitated together with a particle mixture including a penetrant comprising chromium (Cr) powder and tungsten carbide (WC) powder, and an iron chloride (FeCl) catalyst, and WC particles penetrate the surface of the pins together with chromium carbide (CrC). As a result, a chromium carbide layer in which WC particles are diffused in a CrC layer (CrC&#x2014;WC layer) is formed on the outermost surface part of the steel forming the parent material of the pins.

Wear-resistant chain pin

The contact between the silent chainand the chain guideand tension armis made to be point contact, and friction loss during travel of the chain can be reduced.
