A phantom design method includes a correction step and a calculation step. In the correction step, an absorption spectrum of a target of spectroscopic measurement by a near infrared spectrometer is corrected based on a refractive index of the target and a refractive index of a resin used as a base material of a phantom to generate a corrected absorption spectrum. In the calculation step, based on an absorption spectrum of the resin and an absorption spectrum of each of N types of dyes, a concentration of each of the N types of dyes to be contained in the base material is calculated such that an absorption spectrum of the phantom constituted by the base material containing the N types of dyes approximates the corrected absorption spectrum in a predetermined wavelength range of a near infrared region.

A mammography device is disclosed. The mammography device includes a container configured to surround the breast and a plurality of optical fibers attached to be directed inward in the container and configured to perform radiation and detection of light. The container has a base member having an opening, a plurality of annular members continuously disposed to come in communication with the opening, and a bottom member disposed inside the annular member spaced the farthest distance from the base member. The annular members and the bottom member are configured to relatively displace the adjacent annular member on the side of the base member or the base member in a communication direction. Some of the plurality of optical fibers is attached to the plurality of annular members.

As a result, variation in the measured values caused by the non-uniform distribution of components in the measurement site is reduced, so that variation in the measured values caused by variations in the light path length accompanying variations in the shape of the measurement site , and by variations in blood flow or the like that accompany differences in the contact pressure, can be reduced. Optical CT apparatus and image reconstructing method

A method for measuring an internal property distribution which includes making measurement light incident from a plurality of light incidence positions on a surface of a measured object, detecting the measurement light that has passed through the object, successively or simultaneously, at at least one light detection position out of a plurality of light detection positions on the surface of the object. A plurality of measurement values obtained by a plurality of combinations of the light incidence position and said light detection position are extracted. A mean value of the measured values are calculated to obtain a reference value and a change amount of a predetermined internal property in each of the plurality of regions of the object are calculated using the plurality of measured values obtained. The reference value thereby establishing an internal property change amount distribution in the object.

Method and apparatus for measuring internal property distribution

An arithmetic control mechanism of the present optical CT apparatus calculates first light densities in output portions of an object on the basis of a numerical analysis method, when it is assumed that the object is divided into fine segments and all segments have the same value as an absorption coefficient under predetermined conditions equivalent to an actual measurements; and calculates second light densities in the output portions on the basis of the method, when it is assumed that sequentially selected one of the segments has a specific value as an absorption coefficient under the predetermined conditions. Further, the mechanism calculates, as influences of the segments, ratios of the first to the second light densities, thereby obtaining an influence matrix corresponding to an arrangement of the segments; calculates relative ratios of the third light densities in the output portions on the basis of the actual measurements to the fitst light densities, thereby obtaining a relative ratio matrix corresponding to arrangements of input and output portions of the object; and performs a matrix calculation by using the influence matrix and the relative ratio matrix, thereby obtaining feature data of the segments for reconstructing a tomographic image of the object.

Optical computer tomographic apparatus and image reconstruction method

Measuring scattering and absorption properties of a scattering medium according to the following: (a) causing pulsed measuring light having a predetermined wavelength to enter the scattering medium; (b) performing time-resolved measurement of the measuring light having diffusively propagated in the scattering medium at light detection positions corresponding to a plurality of combinations, each comprising a light incidence position on the scattering medium in the first step and a light detection position on the scattering medium where the measuring light entered the scattering medium in the first step and a light detection position on the scattering medium where the measuring light is detected, having different incidence-detection distances between the light incidence position and the light detection position; (c) calculating a plurality of mean optical pathlengths of the measuring light corresponding to the plurality of incidence-detection distances, based on results of the time-resolved measurement measured in the second step; and (d) calculating a scattering coefficient and an absorption coefficient in the scattering medium, based on a plurality of simultaneous relations consisting of calculation values of the plurality of mean optical pathlengths corresponding to the incidence-detection distances, calculated in the third step, and a theoretical equation of the mean optical pathlengths derived in correspondence to light diffusion properties comprising a scattering property and an absorption property in diffusive propagation paths in the scattering medium.
