An internally split type jack, comprising: a casing, the casing having a front end wall formed with a plug inlet hole and partition walls having plug passage holes formed therein aligned coaxially with the plug inlet hole and of substantially corresponding diameter, an inner casing wall of each housing space having a slot closed at one end formed therein; a plurality of electrical contact pieces mounted one in each of the housing spaces, each of the contact pieces comprising: a main body with a further plug passage hole therein substantially corresponding in diameter to the plug inlet hole; cooperating resilient contact-makers disposed on opposite sides of the further plug passage hole; and, one side edge adapted to slidably engage in the slot and so properly position the contact piece in the housing space to align the further plug passage hole coaxially with the plug inlet hole and the plug passage holes; and, at least one abutment disposed in at least one of the housing spaces to limit outward movement of at least one of the resilient contact-makers, whereby a plug inserted into and withdrawn from the jack will be guided during movement by the plug inlet hole and the plug passage holes, thereby passing smoothly through the further plug passage holes in the contact pieces, and will be resiliently clamped between the contact-makers of each contact piece during full insertion, the contact pieces being protected from damage due to misaligned movement of the plug into and out of the jack.

Internally split type jack

A jack has a body of insulating synthetic resin having a bore for the insertion and removal of a plug, the body housing a contact member having a movable portion. When the plug is inserted through the bore into the body, the movable portion of the contact member is engaged by the plug for resilient contact therewith. A resilient projection extends integrally from the body and is disposed between the back of the movable portion of the contact member and an inner wall surface of the body. When the movable portion of the contact member is displaced in response to insertion of the plug, the movable portion is brought into resilient contact with the resilient projection which then strengthens the resiliency of the contact member.

Jack

A jack having a jack case with an electrical contact switch adapted to be operated responsive to insertion and removal of a plug into and from the jack case along an insertion axis, the jack comprising: an insulating separator disposed with its longitudinal axis substantially parallel to the insertion axis, the separator having a projection at one end and the jack casing having a slot in one wall thereof for receiving the projection and enabling pivotal movement about the projection; and, the contact switch having a resilient contact piece which engages the other end of the separator and resilently positions the separator within the housing, such that upon plug insertion, the plug will engage an intermediate portion of the separator, thereby pivoting the separator, the separator engaging and moving the contact piece to operate the contact switch.

Jack having an insulating contact operator

The present application discloses a jack assembly structure in which at least one contact piece is formed in a rectangular plate having parallel outer pieces projected from the two opposite sides thereof and parallel inner pieces projected from the other two opposite sides thereof, each of said inner pieces having a width smaller than the facing distance of the outer pieces, and such contact piece is mounted to the opening of a box-type jack case, with the inner surfaces of the both outer pieces contacted with the outer surfaces of the both lateral walls of the jack case and the both lateral edges of the inner pieces contacted with the inner surfaces of the both lateral walls of the jack case, whereby the both lateral walls of the jack case is pressingly held and reinforced by the contact piece.
