A light source apparatus includes a plurality of light source modules each including at least one light source unit, light guide lines connected respectively to the light source units, and a casing accommodating the plurality of light source modules and the plurality of light guide lines. A light source apparatus includes an outer casing. A light source member and a light source module having a cooling body which cools the light source member are disposed in the outer casing. A wind tunnel which surrounds a heat pipe unit as the cooling body of the light source module is provided in the outer casing. The wind tunnel includes a wind passage which allows cooling wind to pass through the heat pipe unit. An intake-opening is formed in a surface of the outer casing, and cooling wind is taken into the outer casing from outside thereof through the intake-opening. One end of the wind passage of the wind tunnel is connected to the intake-opening.

Included are a plurality of cylindrical holders having holes into which laser modules are fitted and fixed, respectively; a plate-like base that has a first surface, a second surface opposite to the first surface, and a plurality of through holes through which the laser beams from the plurality of laser modules fixed to the holder pass, the holders abutting against the first surface so as to connect the holes thereof to the through holes of the base, the second surface of the base being arranged with a plurality of lenses corresponding to the through holes; and adhesives applied to outer corners of abutment portions, at which the base and the LD holders abut against each other, for fixing the base and the LD holders to each other.

An objective is to provide a light source device having a light emission source such as a semiconductor laser (LD), an LED and a lamp, and an optical part such as a lens and a fiber for transmitting, transferring and light-focusing, in which, by controlling the amount of sulfate ions inside the device at a low level, adhesion of ammonium sulfate to the optical part can be prevented. The light source device includes a light source for emitting light, an optical part for processing light emitted from the light source, and a housing in which the optical part is housed, or to which the optical part is mounted, and the housing is formed by machining material that includes no sulfur component, and the material is exposed on the surface thereof.

Included are, a module fixing body having a plurality of mounting holes into which laser modules are fitted and accommodated, respectively; an electricity-supplying member having an end provided with electricity-supplying terminals, which are connected to electricity-receiving terminals of the laser module accommodated in the mounting hole; and a cooling member that cools each of the laser modules. A groove in which the electricity-supplying member is accommodated is formed in a surface of the module fixing body, and the cooling member is closely arranged on the surface of the module fixing body.

Camera calibration which is robust against noise factors such as variation in environmental lighting and obstructions is realized. Light-emitting markers, whose on/off states can be controlled, are arrayed in a matrix on a reference panel on which an object is placed. The light-emitting markers blink in accordance with respective switching patterns in synchronism with the frame of continuous imaging of a camera. A three-dimensional measuring instrument determines the time-varying bright-and-dark pattern of a blinking point from the image of each frame and identifies, on the basis of the pattern, to which light-emitting marker each point corresponds. By reference to the identification results, camera calibration is performed, and a coordinate transformation parameter is computed.

In a matrix of light detectors forming a part of a three-dimensional measurement sensor, outputs of light detectors belonging to a same row are connected to a common signal line. An output of each light detector is read, through scanning by the horizontal scan circuit, to the signal line from left to right in order, during a horizontal scan period which is sufficiently short such that slit light of a light-sectioning method can be assumed to be substantially stationary. A position detector determines a time from start of the horizontal scan period until detection of a maximum peak of a signal in the signal line. The time indicates a distance from an end of the row from which scanning is started to the light detector detecting the peak of the slit light. A recording processor records a value of a distance determined by the position detector in correspondence to a value of a counter indicating a projection angle of the slit angle.

A fundamental laser beam is wavelength converted through nonlinear optical crystals by traveling in one direction, sequentially through two nonlinear optical crystals arranged in series. A wavelength-converted laser beam is generated and includes wavelength-converted laser beams having polarized directions differing from each other by angles in a range from 45&#xb0; to 90&#xb0;. The two nonlinear optical crystals have crystal orientation axes differing by 45&#xb0; to 90&#xb0; when viewed along the optical axis of the laser beam.
