A control system for controlling operation of a compressor of a vehicular air conditioning system. The control system comprises an electromagnetic clutch which is adapted to disengage so as to cut the drivable connection of the compressor with an engine. The electromagnetic clutch is in an electric circuit including a first switch adapted to close in the overheat condition of a fuel system, and a second switch adapted to close at an abrupt vehicle acceleration. Additionally, a timer is provided in the electric circuit to maintain the disengaged state of the electromagnetic clutch for a predetermined time upon close of both the first and second switches thereby to stop the operation of the compressor, thus improving vehicle acceleration performance under the fuel system overheat condition.

A vehicle air conditioner is provided with a 'lost motion' mechanism for drivingly connecting first and second shafts with one common actuator such that an air-mix door and a water cock are driven by the one common actuator.

An air conditioning system comprising a duct structure, an evaporator unit positioned downstream of an air inlet end of the duct structure, an air heater unit positioned downstream of the evaporator unit, an air entrance chamber formed between the evaporator unit and the air heater unit, an air distribution chamber formed between the air heater unit and an air outlet end of the duct structure, an air-flow proportioning door positioned between the air entrance chamber and the air heater unit and movable between a position fully shutting of a flow of air from the air entrance chamber to the air heater unit and a position allowing the air heater unit to be fully open to the air entrance chamber, a bypass passageway bypassing the air heater unit, an air-flow guide vane positioned aside the bypass passageway and movable between a position withdrawn from the bypass passageway and a position in the bypass passageway, and a vane drive mechanism intervening between the air-flow proportioning door and the air-flow guide vane and operative to translate the movement of the proportioning door between the two positions thereof into the movement of the two positions, respectively, of the guide vane.

In an engine cooling water circulation system which comprises a radiator, a water jacket of the engine, a first hose feeding a cooled water from the radiator to the engine water jacket, a second hose feeding a heated water from the engine water jacket to the radiator, a heater core of a passenger room heater, a third hose leading from the engine water jacket to a lower portion of the heater core for feeding the heated water from the engine water jacket to the heater core; and a fourth hose leading from an upper portion of the heater core to the first hose for feeding the cooled water from the heater core to the first hose, there is provided a two-way valve which is disposed in the fourth hose at a portion near the upper portion of the heater core. The two-way valve has a condition wherein the interior of the heater core is communicated with the open air.

Engine cooling water circulation system

A dial type wire control device includes a drum and a strap or band in combination. The drum is connected to a dial member through a connecting shaft so that the drum and the dial member can rotate synchronously. The band is to be wound on the periphery of the drum when the drum rotates in one direction and to be unwound when it rotates in the opposite direction. Thus, the wire is pulled or pushed to control a subject in a conventional manner.

A ventilator air outlet door having a curved portion, a downstream deflecting portion, and support portions is pivotally disposed within the bypass passageway formed within an air distribution housing and is pivotally swung between a first position closing a ventilator outlet when the defrosting or heating mode is selected, and a second position within the bypass passageway, opening the ventilator outlet when the ventilating mode is selected thereby the ventilator door guiding the air flowing through the bypass passageway desirable direction when the ventilating defrosting or heating mode is selected.
