A vehicle simulation system equipped to display information on the rear side of a driver (rider). The simulation system includes a dummy bicycle operated by the rider, a monitor on the front side for displaying a scene based on the operations of the dummy bicycle, and a lamp unit connected to the dummy bicycle and provided on the rear side relative to the seated position of the rider. The lamp unit has a red lamp, a yellow lamp and a green lamp, and is controlledly turned ON under the action of a main control unit. An input device is provided on a steering handle of the dummy bicycle. The input device has a switch for red, a switch for yellow, and a switch for green. The rider checks behind, and operates the input device according to the ON/OFF conditions of the lamp unit.

Vehicle simulation system

In an interactive driving simulation apparatus for a two-wheeled vehicle, a real-time test drive performance by a student operator around a simulated driving route sequence is recorded. The recorded performance is later replayed for the benefit of the student, to provide real-world simulation, education, and performance evaluation. During the simulated driving, pre-recorded performance evaluation comments are selected and stored, corresponding to the student's specific performance at a traffic driving situation on the driving route sequence. Then, upon displaying of a replay screen image of the simulated driving on a display unit, when a particular traffic driving situation is arrived at, a simulated operating environment of the traffic driving situation and the selected performance evaluation comments are automatically superimposed and displayed together as a replay screen

Interactive driving simulator, and methods of using same

To eliminate a wrong recognition of speech and reduce processing load to be applied to a computer in a simulation apparatus. The simulation apparatus includes a speech recognition section for referring to dictionary data in which a plurality of phrase data are recorded to specify phrase data, a dictionary selection section for selecting the dictionary data to be referred to by the speech recognition section in response to a mode, and a monitor and a motor for being operated based on an operation of rider, speech and the phrase data. The speech recognition section confirms whether or not sound inputting is valid. If the sound inputting is valid, then a speech recognition mark is displayed on a screen. One of the dictionary data is selected based on the mode. Voice of the rider and the dictionary data are referred to for searching for phrase data conforming to the recognized speech.

Apparatus for simulating the operation of a vehicle

A riding simulation system for providing an operator with a pseudo-experience of a running motorcycle. A steering handle mechanism of the system which enables the operator to perform steering operations is turnably held on a frame body and a connection shaft is supported to be inclinable relative to the frame body through an inclination lock mechanism. The connection shaft is provided to be extendable and contractable along the axial direction thereof through an extension/contraction lock mechanism, so that the position of a pedal mechanism mounted on the lower side of the connection shaft can be displaced to a desired position relative to the position of the steering handle mechanism. The system also includes a vibrator and a click generator to simulate the vibration of a motor and the sound of gear shifting, as well as a mechanism to simulate a reaction force to a steering handle.

A transmission for a motorcycle has a shift pedal elastically inclined up and down from a reference position with a potentio-sensor for detecting the inclination. A control unit determines a shift position value Po obtained from the potentio-sensor, and outputs the shift position value Po to a predetermined speed change coping unit. A comparative determination unit in the control unit determines the inclination of the gear shift pedal through comparing and judging a range B indicative of the reference position, a range Nset in a predetermined angle range to the lower direction, a range Cgreater in inclination angle than the range N, a range Nin a predetermined angle to the upper direction he range B, and a range Cgreater in inclination angle than the range N

Transmission for motorcycle, motorcycle and motorcycle simulation system

To simulatively implement a retreating movement of a bicycle in a state wherein a rider dismounts from the bicycle. A simulated bicycle includes a steering angle sensor for detecting a steering angle of a handlebar, a momentary type retreating switch provided at a rear lower portion of a saddle, and a monitor for displaying a scene based on a simulated traveling speed, the steering angle and a signal of the retreating switch. When the retreating switch is operated, an image of a bicycle and a person who operates the bicycle to retreat is displayed on the monitor. The retreating switch is operated through a level so that the rider having dismounted from the bicycle can readily manually operate the same.

Bicycle simulation apparatus

A bicycle simulation apparatus includes: a steering angle sensor which detects a steering angle of handlebars; a visual display which displays scenes based on a simulated travel speed and the steering angle of the handlebars; and a crank position detector which detects rotational positions of cranks. The crank position detector includes two detected protrusions on a crankshaft and left and right approach sensors. A warning section of a main controller issues warnings if it is determined that the steering angle exceeds a predetermined angle to the left or right during simulated traveling, and if it is also determined by the crank position detector that the crank is directed downward during a sharp turning operation of the handlebars. The bicycle simulation apparatus enables a more realistic driving simulation in consideration of rotational positions of simulator pedals and cranks.

To realize a light steering handle operation similar to that of a real bicycle, and to obtain an appearance similar to that of a real bicycle. A bicycle simulation system has a turnable steering handle, a left-right pair of pedals, a frame for turnably supporting the steering handle and the pedals, a monitor for displaying a scenery according to the simulated running velocity required by a first speed pickup, a controller supplying sensor signals to a main control unit which controls the monitor. The controller is provided on front forks that function as a front stand.

Bicycle simulation system

Riding simulation device

A communication system is provided with a group registration function, which is capable of setting a group mode with the reduced number of operation, and simply selecting one of full duplex communication and half duplex communication by a rider, as needed. When a power supply switch and a registration switch are turned on simultaneously, member ID registration is executed. When the power supply switch is turned on and then the registration switch is turned on, visitor ID registration is executed. Accordingly, the registration of a group mode can be simplified. After the registration is ended, at the time of turn-off of a visitor conversation switch, full duplex communication is performed among communication devices subjected to member ID registration, and at the time of turn-on of the visitor conversation switch, half duplex communication is performed between the master and all of the slaves.

Wireless communication system with group registration function

A radio communication system for a vehicle which allows communication not only between a driver and a passenger of one vehicle but also with a driver or a passenger of another vehicle without increasing the scale of a radio communication apparatus to be mounted on a helmet. A radio wave signaled from a radio wave transmitter-receiver of a driver or a passenger of a vehicle is received by a repeating apparatus of the self-vehicle and amplified by and re-signaled from the repeating apparatus. The radio wave signaled from the repeating apparatus is received by a radio wave transmitter-receiver of a driver or a passenger of another vehicle and reproduced by a speaker. A radio wave signaled from the radio wave transmitter-receiver of the driver or a passenger of the vehicle is received by a repeating apparatus of the self-vehicle and amplified by and re-signaled from the repeating apparatus. The radio wave signaled from the repeating apparatus is received by the radio wave transmitter-receiver of a driver or a passenger of the vehicle and reproduced by a speaker.

Radio communication system for vehicle

A communication system for communicating between two occupants riding on the same vehicle, or between the driver and the fellow passenger. A helmet that each occupant wears is provided with a microphone and a speaker, respectively. The external contacts of microphone and the speaker are exposed toward the outside of the magnet-side socket, which is one of the sockets of the magnet connector. Each cable extending from the communication unit is provided at the tip with a magnetic-body-side socket, which is the other socket of the magnet connector. The helmet and the cable are connected electrically and mechanically via the magnet connector including the magnet-side socket and the magnetic-body-side socket, which constitutes a pair. The communication unit is connected to the magnet-body-side socket for communicating voices in which a relatively large physiological sound cannot be transmitted.

A speech communication apparatus which is used with a microphone being fixed to a predetermined position in the vicinity of the mouth in such a manner as to prevent the transmission of uncomfortable noise such as sneezing, coughing or throat-clearing noise to a partner. There is provided a speech communication apparatus including a speech communication microphone, a speaker and a communication unit for amplifying an output signal from the speech communication microphone, the speech communication apparatus includes the communication unit having an amplifier for amplifying an input signal and outputting the input signal so amplified, and a controller for controlling the gain of the amplifier in response to an excessive input signal, wherein the controller controls the gain of the amplifier such that a reproduced sound of an excessive input signal is reduced to a predetermined level only for a predetermined period of time when the excessive input signal is detected.

Speech communication apparatus with gain control for clear communication

A two-wheeled vehicle simulation apparatus includes a vehicle simulator having a saddle which the driver sits on and handlebars operated by the driver, a mat switch laid on a floor in the vicinity of the vehicle simulator, and a monitor displaying information and images based on signals obtained from pedals, the handlebars, and the mat switch. Two or more of the mat switches are provided to independently sense respective placement of one or both feet on the floor by the driver. When two detectors substantially alternately detect placement of the driver's right and left feet on the floor, an image of a two-wheeled vehicle and a person walking the two-wheeled vehicle is displayed on the monitor. The vehicle simulator permits simulation of the action of a driver putting his/her foot on a road surface to achieve more realistic simulation.
