To reduce the chip size of a chip-type electronic component including a capacitor and an inductor. A chip-type electronic component includes a capacitor constituted by a lower electrode pattern, an upper electrode pattern, and an insulating layer, an insulating layer covering the capacitor, and an inductor pattern disposed on the insulating layer. The inductor pattern has a section overlapping the capacitor, whereby an auxiliary capacitor is added. The inductor pattern is thus made to partly overlap the capacitor, so that a larger inductance can be obtained with a small chip size. In addition, characteristics can also be improved by auxiliary capacitance.

Chip-type electronic component

A directional coupler including a main line, a sub-line, an input terminal, an output terminal, a coupling terminal and an isolation terminal, wherein the main line includes a first main-line section formed on a first layer, and a second main-line section formed on a second layer; the first and the second main-line sections are connected in parallel between the input and the output terminals; the sub-line includes a first sub-line section formed on the first layer, and a second sub-line section formed on the second layer; the first and the second sub-line sections are connected in parallel between the coupling and the isolation terminals; the first main-line section and the first sub-line section are disposed in close proximity to each other to generate electromagnetic coupling; and the second main-line section and the second sub-line section are disposed in close proximity to each other to generate electromagnetic coupling.

Directional coupler and wireless communication device

A directional coupler including a main line having an input terminal and an output terminal, and a sub-line having a coupling terminal and an isolation terminal, the main line, the sub-line, the input terminal, the output terminal, the coupling terminal and the isolation terminal being disposed within a laminate, wherein the main line and the sub-line extend in a loop shape in parallel with and spaced apart from each other by a gap such that electromagnetic coupling is generated therebetween and such that the main line is positioned outside the sub-line on a coupling layer, the input terminal, the output terminal, the coupling terminal and the isolation terminal are disposed outside the main line, and the main line is interposed between the output terminal and the sub-line.

A directional coupler includes a main line and a subline. The main line connects an input port and an output port. The subline connects a coupling port and a terminal port. The subline includes a first coupling line section connected to the terminal port, a second coupling line section connected to the coupling port, and a low-pass filter. The low-pass filter includes an inductor provided between the first and second coupling line sections, a first capacitor having an end connected to the connection point between the inductor and the second coupling line section, a resistor connecting the other end of the first capacitor to the ground, and a second capacitor connecting the connection point between the inductor and the first coupling line section to the ground.

Directional coupler

A directional coupler has a first line capable of transmitting a high-frequency signal therethrough and a second line arranged for electromagnetic coupling with the first line in a laminated board. The first line and the second line are routed on a first conductor layer to extend in close proximity to and in parallel with each other, to form an intra-layer coupling zone for developing electromagnetic coupling between the first line and the second line. The second line is routed on a second conductor layer such that the second line partially overlaps with the first line disposed on the first conductor layer with respect to a length-wise direction, when viewed in plan, to form an inter-layer coupling space for developing electromagnetic coupling between the second line on the second conductor layer and the first line on the first conductor layer.
