A resource-saving neck of a synthetic resin bottle having high resistance to pressure and heat and a high, stable sealing property is provided. The part is aimed at equalizing an effect of thread-formed portions on the crystallization of a molten resin material along the circumferential direction of the part. These objectives are achieved by (1) forming screw threads of a multi-threaded screw structure on the outer surface of the neck wall, each screw thread comprising a main thread, with a starting and ending extension, with a width and height thereof being reduced gradually; (2) disposing the starting extension of a screw thread vertically above the ending extension of another thread; and (3) whitening the entire part by thermal crystallization. Sinks are prevented in the neck wall, and the height can be restricted despite increase in the diameter.

A pressure resistant bottle-shaped container having a body including panels surrounded by outer sheaths, characterized in that each panel has stress absorbing strips comprising vertexes recessed from the outer surface of the panel toward the interior of the container and bending lines formed in V shape and inverted V shape from the vertexes toward the outer sheaths. A method of producing a saturated polyester resin bottle having a white-patterned wall by bringing at least one heat absorbing member into partial contact with a transparent tubular parison of a saturated polyester resin, when the tubular parison is heated, so that the portions of the saturated parison other than that contacting with the heat absorbing member may be heated to a relatively high temperature and may be locally crystallized to leave a desired white pattern. The bringing operation of the heat absorbing member is accomplished by inserting the heat absorbing member attached to a stem into the tubular parison thereby to prevent the portion of the tubular parison contacting with the heat absorbing member from turning locally white. The aforementioned relatively high temperature is higher than the glass transition temperature and lower than the crystallization temperature of the saturated polyester resin used. Moreover, the heating treatment is interrupted while the parison portion contacting with the heat absorbing member is left under its uncrystallized transparent condition.

This invention relates to a method of fabricating a bottle-shaped container of saturated polyester having superior mechanical strength, very low degrees of age and high temperature deformation, and superior dimensional stability. The piece for forming the bottle-shaped container is heated to an orientation temperature, is biaxially oriented in a blowing mold and is then thermally set by maintaining the outer wall surface of the expanded container in contact with the inner wall surface of the mold, which is kept at a temperature in the range between the glass transition point and the crystallization temperature, for longer than 5 seconds. The blowing mold is formed with the size adjusted in capacity by approx. 6% to allow for shrinkage of the product container when the container is exposed to a high temperature greater than 70.degree. C. and then left to stand, so as to thereby obtain a container of accurate capacity.
