Provided is an optometry apparatus capable of checking details of input operation performed by a person to be examined to smoothly perform an examination. The optometry apparatus includes: an optical head portion having a liquid crystal display device for indicating an index such as a Landolt ring to the left eye of the person to be examined; an optical head portion having a liquid crystal display device for indicating an index to the right eye of the person to be examined; a joystick lever for inputting a reply to the indices indicated by the liquid crystal display devices, which is operated by the person to be examined; and a control portion that causes the liquid crystal display devices to display operational detail information indicating operational details of the joystick lever operated by the person to be examined in addition to the indices.

Lens specifying device

A lens meter is provided which comprises a light source for generation of a measuring light beam and a pattern forming plate provided in an optical path of the measuring light beam. The pattern forming plate has a central pattern for measuring lens characteristics of a narrow area on an eyeglass lens and a plurality of peripheral patterns for measuring lens characteristics of a wide area on the eyeglass lens. The pattern forming plate can be switched between a normal measuring mode which receives the image of the central pattern based on the measuring light beam transmitted through the narrow area of the eyeglass lens and also measures the narrow area alone and displays the measured values and a wide-area measuring mode which receives a great number of images of the peripheral patterns based on the measuring light beam transmitted through the wide area of the eyeglass lens and also measures the wide area and performs mapping display.

Lens meter

A lens meter is provided in which a measurement light beam emitted from a light source (21) is projected onto a lens (L) to be inspected, an amount in travel of the measurement light beam which has passed through the lens (L) is then detected by a TV camera (34), and the refractive characteristics of the lens (L) based on the detection result are computed by an arithmetic and control circuit (35) and are displayed by a display unit (3). In the lens meter, the arithmetic and control circuit (35) computes cylindrical power of a distance portion (40) of the lens (L) in consideration of cylindrical power and a direction of a cylindrical axis from the detection result of the TV camera (34), and then computes cylindrical power in distortion areas (42, 43) except the distance portion (40), a progressive portion (41), and a near portion (41') in consideration of the cylindrical power and the direction of the cylindrical axis. After that, the arithmetic and control circuit (35) subtracts the cylindrical power of the distance portion (40) from the cylindrical power of the distortion areas (42, 43). Based on the obtained subtraction results, the arithmetic and control circuit (35) computes boundary lines (44, 45) between the distance, progressive, and near portions (40, 41, 41') and the distortion areas (42, 43) except these portions, and allows the display unit (3) to display the boundary lines (44, 45).

A lens meter is provided in which a beam of light from an illumination optical system (20) is made incident upon a lens (40) to be inspected, the light beam which has passed through the lens (40) is then received by a light receiving sensor (33b) through a lens platform (13) disposed on a lens receiving table (11) and a light receiving optical system (30), and the two-dimensional optical characteristics of the lens (40) are measured from a detection result of the light receiving sensor (33b). In the lens meter, the lens platform (13) is formed to have such an area as to guide light coming from the middle of the lens (40) and from a predetermined range around the middle to the light receiving sensor (33b), and projections (13b) are formed for determining a light reception distance (2) from the lens (40) to a relay lens (32) of the light receiving optical system (30).

Lens meter for measuring the optical characteristics of a lens

A lens meter is provided which includes a light source portion (20) with a first light source (21) for generating a lens-characteristic measuring light beam (P2) and a second light source (23) for generating a position specifying light beam (P1). A patterning plate (28) with lens-characteristic measuring patterns (28c) and position specifying patterns (28b) is disposed in an optical path (31) of the lens-characteristic measuring light beam (P2) and position specifying light beam (P1) generated by the light source portion (20). The measuring light beam (P2) is projected onto a subject lens (30) set in the optical path (31) so that the images (28c') of the lens-characteristic measuring pattern (28c) are received. The received images (28c') are analyzed, and the lens-characteristic mapping display of the subject lens (30) is performed. In this lens meter, the first and second light sources (21, 23) are separate from each other.

A progressive power lens (L) is illuminated with a collimated light beam through an illuminating optical system (2) comprising an LED (5), a pinhole plate (6), and a collimator lens (7). The shadow of the hidden mark of the progressive power lens (L) is projected onto a screen (4) by the light beam transmitted through the progressive power lens (L).

The invention provides a lens bearer for bearing thereon a lens to be checked for an optical performance thereof. The lens bearer has a lens bearer body for bearing the lens thereon, and a covering member for being removably fitted on a lens-bearing portion of the lens bearer body, for placing the lens thereon. The covering member is made of a material which is softer than the lens bearer body. This makes it possible to replace the covering member alone when the lens bearer is used many times, thereby preventing deformation of a portion of the lens bearer which is brought into contact with lenses, and protecting the surface of the lens from being damaged.

A lens meter having an optical measuring system which can measure optical characteristics of a progressive lens includes a memory means which stores the optical characteristics of each measuring point measured in a range from a far vision region to a near vision region by the optical measuring system, a distinguishing means which compares the optical characteristics of each measuring point stored in the memory means and distinguishes whether the measured points belong to a progressive band or areas located in both right and left sides of the progressive band, a display means which displays a result of the distinguishing means. With this structure, the optical characteristics of each measuring point can be measured ranging from the far vision region to the near vision region by the optical measuring system, and the results are stored in the memory means. Next, by means of the distinguishing means, the optical characteristics of each measuring point are compared and distinguished whether the measured points belong to the progressive band or the areas located in both right and left sides of the progressive band. This distinguished result is displayed by the display means. Thus, the measuring position of the progressive lens can be easily recognized, and thus the near vision power can be accurately measured.
