A method of manufacturing an electrode group unit for lithium ion capacitor that allows reliable welding between a current collecting member and an electrode and that provides a welded portion with a low resistance is provided. A lithium ion capacitor is also provided. An unapplied portionof a positive electrodeand an unapplied portionof a negative electrodeare disposed to project outside of separatorsin directions opposite to each other. The resulting assembly is wound into a swirling shape in cross section about an axial coreto form an electrode group. A lithium metal support memberis disposed on the negative electrodesuch that a layer in which the lithium metal support memberis wound is located in a radially middle region of the electrode group. A negative current collecting memberis placed on the unapplied portion, and welding is performed using a direct-collecting semiconductor laser device that continuously generates laser light to manufacture an electrode group unitfor lithium ion capacitor. A present invention provide a lithium ion storage device capable of reliably doping a negative active material of a negative plate with lithium ions generated through dissolution of a lithium metal plate disposed in an electrode group. A conductive shielding member includes a current collecting metal foil and a negative active material layer formed on at least one surface of the current collecting metal foil. The conductive shielding member is provided between a lithium metal plate and a positive plate such that the lithium metal plate is sandwiched between the negative plate and the negative active material layer formed on the current collecting metal foil of the conductive shielding member.

Lithium ion storage device

A direct-current power source apparatus in which a lithium-ion capacitor unit is used as an electric storage system and which can fully utilize the lithium-ion capacitor unit and maintain the supply of electricity to a load is provided. An electric storage system includes a lithium-ion capacitor unit and a lead-acid battery connected in parallel with a load, and a voltage detecting section that detects the voltage of the lithium-ion capacitor unit. When the voltage detecting section detects that the voltage of the lithium-ion capacitor unit has reached a unit lower-limit voltage, a control circuit outputs a conduction signal for causing a switching circuit to get into a conductive state. When the switching circuit gets into a conductive state, the secondary battery supplies an electric power to a motor. At this time, the secondary battery charges the lithium-ion capacitor unit.
