Vapor is separated from mist accompanying the vapor by passing the vapor through a porous membrane. The vapor having passed through the membrane is brought into contact with an object to be washed and condenses thereon, whereby the object is washed.

Vapor washing process and apparatus

A heat conducting member is placed in the space between a semiconductor chip which generates heat and a heat transfer block which is cooled by a coolant, and the heat conducting member conducts heat from the semiconductor chip to the heat transfer block. The heat conducting member has a slanted surface which is inclined with respect to a surface to be cooled of the corresponding semiconductor chip. Even when the semiconductor chip is displaced or inclined with respect to the heat transfer block, the whole of the cooling surface of the semiconductor chip can be kept in contact with the corresponding heat conducting member.

The present invention relates to a process for producing ultra-pure water, an apparatus for producing said ultra-pure water and a process for using the ultra-pure water produced according to said process. More particularly, the present invention relates to a process for producing ultra-pure water which comprises boiling a raw water to vaporize off the volatile components from the raw water, subsequently generating steam from the water, contacting the steam with a hydrophobic, porous, gas-permeable and liquid-impermeable membrane to make the steam permeate the membrane, and then condensing the steam, as well as to an apparatus for producing said ultra-pure water and a process for using said ultra-pure water.

This invention relates to a gasification process for a coal gasification furnace in a coal gasification plant and to an apparatus therefor. In particular, the invention relates to a gasification process for a coal gasification furnace which comprises ejecting coal and an oxidizing agent along the circumferential direction of a gasification chamber to form a whirling stream, making the two contact and react with each other in the gasification chamber, thereby producing a combustible gas from the coal while making ash in the coal melt into the form of slag, and withdrawing the slag through a slag tap provided at the lower part of the gasification chamber into a slag cooling chamber, wherein said process comprises causing the whirling stream to produce pressure difference such that the pressure decreases from the wall surface of the gasification chamber toward the central part thereof, forming, by use of the pressure difference, a recycle system wherein a part of the combustible gas produced is introduced from the gasification chamber to the slag cooling chamber and returned again therefrom to the gasification chamber, and heating the slag tag by means of the circulating combustible gas, and to a process therefor.

Gasification process for coal gasification furnace and apparatus therefor

An entrained bed coal gasifier constructed so as to conduct two-stage reactions in a single gasification zone can be operated with high gasification efficiency by feeding coal and a gasifying agent through upper burners located at an upper portion from the half of the gasification section along the vertical direction and lower burners located at a lower portion from the half of the gasification section so as to make rotational flow respectively, the ratio of the amount of gasifying agent to the amount of coal at lower burners being larger than that of at the upper burners, the rotating circle diameter formed by the coal and gasifying agent injected from the upper burner being larger than that formed by the lower burner.

Coal gasifier

A furnace system connected to a burner including a furnace for burning a fuel and air ejected from the burner into the furnace to produce a flame therein, and a combustion condition determining device for determining the conditions of combustion of the fuel in a zone of the flame extending along different strata thereof by collecting light in the flame at one point in the flame by moving such point. Signals outputted by the combustion condition determining device are utilized for monitoring or controlling the flame and controlling exhaust emission control devices for controlling exhaust emissions produced by the combustion of the fuel. Control of the conditions of combustion of the flame can be effected quickly with a high degree of precision by monitoring the flame.

Furnace system

A coal gasification composite power generating plant has a coal gasification plant and a composite power generating plant. The coal gasification plant has a low-pressure steam generator for recovering heat from the furnace wall of a pressurized fluidized bed type coal gasification furnace, and a high-pressure steam generator disposed at the outlet of the gasification furnace and adapted to recover heat from the unrefined gas coming from the gasification furnace. The composite power generating plant includes a gas turbine which uses the gas generated in the gasification plant as the fuel gas, a boiler for recovering heat from the exhaust gas of the gas turbine, and high-pressure and low-pressure steam turbines which operate with the steam generated by the boiler. The high-pressure steam generated in the high-pressure steam generator is introduced to the high-pressure steam turbine, while the steam generated in the low-pressure steam generator is introduced into the low-pressure steam turbine, thereby to effectively recover the energy.

Coal gasification composite power generating plant

A process for gasifying coal comprising supplying to an upper portion of an entrained flow gasifier a coal powder having a particle size of 100 .mu.m or less whereby gasification is conducted at 900.degree. C. or higher in the absence of oxygen, supplying a coal powder including coarser particles and oxygen in an amount from that necessary for complete combustion of coal to a half of said amount to a lower portion of the gasifier whereby gasification is conducted at a melting point of coal ash or higher, and leading the gases produced at the lower portion of the gasifier directly to the upper portion of the gasifier, does not require recycle of char to the gasifier and gives a high gasification efficiency by passing coal powder through the gasifier only one time.

Entrained flow coal gasification process

There are the primary fuel nozzle for jetting the first coal in the fine powder form with an air ratio up to 1, and the secondary fuel nozzle for jetting the second coal in the fine powder form with an air ratio at least 1 from the outer circumferential portion of the primary fuel nozzle. Swirl means are located at the top of the secondary fuel nozzle for swirling the second coal.

Fuel jet method and apparatus for pulverized coal burner

Mineral impurities can be effectively removed from coal by introducing oil droplets into an aqueous slurry of pulverized coal. Coal, which is lipophilic, attaches to the surface of the oil droplets and floats upwardly along with the oil droplets utilizing their buoyancy. On the other hand, mineral impurities, which are hydrophilic, are left in the aqueous slurry.

Process for removing ash from coal

Sulfur oxides contained in the flue gas from coal-fired boiler are adsorbed by an adsorbent prepared by dry-distilling a portion of fuel coal, thereby producing semi-coke, and activating the semi-coke by steam, and then the sulfur oxides-adsorbed adsorbent is heated to desorb the adsorbed sulfur oxides at a high concentration. The desorbed sulfur oxides are passed through a bed of semi-coke before the activation to recover the sulfur oxides as elemental sulfur.

Process for dry desulfurization of flue gas

Sulfur oxides contained in the flue gas from coal-fired boiler are adsorbed by an adsorbent prepared by dry-distilling a portion of fuel coal satisfying at least one of requirements of an ash content lower than 15% by weight and a fixed carbon content of at least 50% by weight, thereby producing semi-coke, and activating the semi-coke by steam, and then the sulfur oxides-adsorbed adsorbent is heated to desorb the adsorbed sulfur oxides at a high concentration. The desorbed sulfur oxides are passed through a bed of semi-coke before the activation to recover the sulfur oxides as elemental sulfur.

A coal or petroleum combustion flue gas containing sulfur oxides and dust is treated by contacting the flue gas with a sulfur dioxide-oxidizing catalyst, thereby converting sulfur dioxide to sulfur trioxide, allowing the resulting sulfur trioxide to react with components of dust, absorbing the trioxide into the dust as a sulfate, and removing the dust. Catalytic oxidation of sulfur dioxide can be efficiently carried out at a low temperature and sulfur oxides can be efficiently removed from the flue gas.

Process for treating flue gas

A hot gas containing nitrogen oxides is admixed with ammonia and hydrogen peroxide to reduce the nitrogen oxides to nitrogen and water. Reduction reaction of the nitrogen oxides by ammonia is considerably promoted in a temperature range of 400.degree. to 800.degree. C. by the addition of hydrogen peroxide, and also ammonia present in excess of the nitrogen oxides is decomposed thereby, eliminating an unreacted ammonia effluent.

Process for removing nitrogen oxides from gas by ammonia

A reducing agent such as ammonia, urea or hydrazine effecting selective reduction reaction with an exhaust gas from a gas turbine is injected into a duct of the turbine along with water, and at the same time compressed air from a compressor for the turbine is jetted in the duct to atomize the reducing agent. An amount of the water is controlled so that the surrounding temperature will be suitable for reduction of nitrogen oxides of the exhaust gas. The atomized reducing agent flowing in the duct is decelerated by silencers disposed in the duct, especially by a particular arrangement thereof, so that the reducing agent will be in good contact with the exhaust gas to sufficiently reduce the nitrogen oxides. Catalyst layers are used according to kinds of the reducing agent. The catalyst layers are disposed in the silencers or at the positions that the silencers are disposed.
