A self position estimation method is provided which is capable of accurately estimating, when executing automatic parking to a parking target position using a stored surrounding situation, a position of a host vehicle or a target in the surrounding situation stored in a storage device. The method includes a step that presents the stored surrounding situation, a step that receives an operation of setting a positional relationship between the stored surrounding situation, and at least one of the host vehicle and the targets existing around the host vehicle, and a step that sets a position of at least one of the host vehicle and the target in the stored surrounding situation based on the operation.

Self position estimation method and self position estimation device

A travel control device acquires subject vehicle information including the position of a subject vehicle, acquires lane marker information including positions of lane markers, sets control areas with reference to the lane markers, and controls a travel position of the subject vehicle so that the subject vehicle travels between a pair of control areas set at right and left of the subject vehicle. The lane markers include a change-point lane marker and includes a course change point. When the pair of control areas set with reference to the change-point lane marker comprises one of the pair at a course change side of the subject vehicle and the other of the pair, the ratio of a width of the other to a width of the one is set larger than the ratio of the widths of control areas set with reference to a lane marker other than the change-point lane marker.

Travel control device and travel control method

A three-dimensional object detection device is provided with an image capturing device, a three-dimensional object detection unit, a rainfall state detection unit, a three-dimensional object assessment unit and a controller. The image capturing device captures an area rearward of a vehicle. The three-dimensional object detection unit detects a three-dimensional object rearward of the vehicle and calculating a traveling speed of the three-dimensional object, based on images obtained by the image capturing device. The rainfall state detection unit detects a state of rainfall including cases of rainfall or formation of a water film on a road surface due to rainfall. The three-dimensional object assessment unit accesses the three-dimensional object to be another vehicle when the traveling speed of the detected three-dimensional object lies within a preset setting range. The controller changes the traveling speed setting range to be narrower when the rainfall state detection unit has detected a rainfall state.

Three-dimensional object detection device, three-dimensional object detection method

A solid object detection device detects solid objects in the periphery of a vehicle. A camera captures images including detection regions set in adjacent traffic lanes to the rear of the vehicle. A solid object assessment unit assesses whether or not a solid object is present in the detection regions. A lateral position detection unit detects a distance between the vehicle position and a dividing line that divides traffic lanes. A region setting unit enlarges the detection region on the side of the dividing line by a greater amount correspondingly with respect to an increase in the distance to the dividing line. A traffic lane change detection unit detects a traffic lane change made by the vehicle. Upon detecting a traffic lane change by the vehicle, a smaller enlarged amount is used when enlarging the size of the predetermined region outward in the vehicle-width direction.

Object detector and object detection method

Lateral displacement reference positions LXL, LXR are set on left and right from a center in a width direction of a traffic lane L where a vehicle travels. Then, at least in a case where the vehicle is positioned on an inner side of the left and right lateral displacement reference position LXL, LXR, the vehicle is feedback-controlled so as to decrease a yaw angle deviation. Further, in a case where the vehicle is positioned at an outer side of the left and right lateral displacement reference position LXL, LXR with respect to the traffic lane center, the feedback control is performed so as to decrease the angle deviation and a lateral displacement deviation.

Lane keeping assist device and lane keeping assist method

The in-lane running support system includes a steering input device and a steering input detector. The in-lane running support system further comprises a reaction force device that changes a condition of the steering input device between a normal operation mode that provides a normal reaction force to the driver, and a hapthic operation mode that performs a notification operation to the driver, a turning output device that is in a state mechanically disconnected from the steering input device and that turns steerable wheels, and a turning output controller. A running state detecting device acquires information of a running state of the vehicle with respect to a lane. An in-lane running support device controls the turning output device and the haptic device based on the information of the running state such that the vehicle runs in the lane, and has a first control mode that controls the turning output control device and causes the reaction force device to operate in the normal operation mode, and a second control mode that controls the turning output control device and causes the reaction force device to operate in the haptic operation mode.

Under an automatic turning control, a steering controller defines a value of steering angle set according to a target turning angle of the automatic turning control, as a value of steering angle at which a reaction force is equal to 0. Thereby, the steering controller controls a steering reaction force on the basis of a difference between an actual steering angle and the value of steering angle at which the reaction force is equal to 0.

Vehicle steering control device and method

A vehicle driving assist system calculates a risk potential indicative of a degree of convergence between a host vehicle and a preceding obstacle. Then, the system performs a driver notification operation that produces a driver notification stimulus based on the risk potential such as decreasing the driving force exerted against the vehicle as the risk potential increases and increasing an actuation reaction force exerted on the accelerator pedal during its operation as the risk potential increases. If a failure is detected in a reaction force generating device serving to add a reaction force to the accelerator pedal in accordance with the risk potential, then the system corrects an engine torque characteristic such that the engine torque does not increase even if the accelerator pedal is depressed to suppress an odd feeling in the vehicle performance by the driver when a failure occurs in the reaction force generating device.

Vehicle driving assist system

A vehicle driving assist system is provided that increases an actuation reaction force exerted by the accelerator pedal, when it is operated, as a risk potential with respect to a preceding obstacle increases. The system also lowers the driving force and increases the braking force exerted against the host vehicle as the risk potential increases. During braking/driving force control based on the risk potential, the system changes a braking/driving force control operating schedule in accordance with the driver's intentions with respect to accelerate or decelerate.

An intelligent driving assistance system for used in a vehicle to convey information related to a future variation of a relative spatial relationship between the vehicle and an object, even before the actual variation occurs. The system includes a detector configured to detect a driving condition of the vehicle and a condition of an object in a field around the vehicle, and a data processor, in anticipation of a future decrease of a distance between the vehicle and the object, regulating a reaction force applied to a driver control device of the vehicle.
