An electrical connector, comprising a housing body having a tubular plugging face for plugging in a mating connector, the tubular plugging face () having a sectional shape of substantially square () with respect to a sectional plane perpendicular to a direction of plugging into the mating connector, the tubular plugging face including a square tubular portion () and a cylindrical portion (), wherein the square tubular and cylindrical portions have sectional shape of a square and a circle, respectively, with respect to the sectional plane, which are overlapped with each other, and at least one key (A) or at least one key groove (A) for preventing a plugging error, the key or key groove provided in the cylindrical portion.

Electrical connector capable of preventing plugging error

A plug frame for an optical connector component comprising a ferrule for receiving an end portion of a core optical fiber of a fiber optic cable and a plug frame for floatingly supporting the ferrule. The plug frame is configured as a one-piece component. This allows reduction of the number of component parts and assembling steps, simplification of the assembling operations and reduction of the manufacturing cost.

One-piece construction of plug frame for optical connector component

Disclosed is an optical connector component comprising a ferrule for receiving an end portion of a core optical fiber of a fiber optic cable, a flange mounted on the peripheral of the ferrule and a one-piece plug frame for floatingly supporting the ferrule having the flange mounted thereon. The flange and the plug frame are provided with respective engagement portions that are mutually engaged. The flange has such resiliency that it is reduced in diameter by a radial and inward force exerted through the engagement portions when the ferrule is inserted into the plug frame from one end thereof and the flange is restored to the original condition present before the insertion when the engagement portions are mutually engaged.

A flexible detecting terminal (6) is provided within an inside connector (1) in the vicinity of the cylindrical outer conductor (5) which surrounds a central conductor (4). An outside connector (52) has a central conductor (52A) for connection with the central conductor (4) and a conductive shell (52B) fitted over the cylindrical outer conductor (5). A contact section (6B) is provided on the detecting terminal (6) such that when the connectors (1) and (52) are not connected to each other, it is spaced from the cylindrical outer conductor (5) but when the connectors (1) and (52) are connected to each other, it is brought into resilient contact with the cylindrical outer conductor (5).

A variable delay line includes a package housing (61); a circuit board (68) provided within the package housing; a ground conductor pattern (69) provided on a backside of the circuit board; an electrical circuit (70) provided on a top surface of the circuit board and including input and output terminal lands (72, 75); a plurality of pairs of shunt lands (76), each pair being connected by a microstrip line (77); a plurality of pairs of element connection lands (78), each being connected to a delay element (79, 80, 81); and a plurality of pairs of connecting contacts (67) movable between a first position in which the connecting contacts connect the shunt microstrip line in series to the electrical circuit and a second position in which the connecting contacts connect the delay element in series to the electrical circuit while disconnecting the shunt microstrip line from the electrical circuit, eliminating major mismatching elements from the delay line, thereby improving high-frequency characteristics.

A variable delay line includes a housing package (20, 21); an input terminal (27) extending outwardly from a first side of the housing package; an output terminal (28) extending outwardly from a second side of the housing package which is opposite to the first side; a circuit board (23) provided within the housing package; an input terminal connection land (31) provided on the circuit board and connected to an end of the input terminal; an output terminal connection land (32) provided on the circuit board and connected to an end of the output terminal; a plurality of delay elements (36); a plurality of pairs of delay element connection fixed pads (33), each pair thereof connected to each of the delay elements; and a plurality of series connection fixed contact pads (34, 35) each corresponding to each pair of the delay element connection fixed pads and connectable in series across the input and output terminal connection lands.

Variable delay line

There is disclosed a coaxial lightning arresting structure comprising an inner conductor, an outer conductor surrounding the inner conductor and an arrester tube located between the inner and outer conductors perpendicularly to the direction of transmission and connected at its ends to the inner and outer conductors, respectively. The portion of the outer conductor provided with the arrester tube has an equivalently substantially increased inner diameter as compared with the other portions of the outer conductor so that the ratio of the inner diameter of the outer conductor portion having said increased diameter to the inner conductor outer diameter is greater than the ratio of the outer conductor inner diameter at the other portions thereof to the inner conductor outer diameter which latter ratio provides the coaxial transmission line with a given characteristic impedance.

Coaxial lightning arresting structure

There is disclosed a coaxial lightning arresting structure comprising an inner conductor, an outer conductor surrounding the inner conductor and an arrester tube located between the inner and outer conductors perpendicularly to the direction of transmission and connected at its ends to the inner and outer conductors, respectively. The portion of the inner conductor provided with the arrester tube has a reduced effective sectional area as compared with the other portions of the inner conductor so that the ratio of the outer conductor inner diameter to the outer diameter of the inner conductor portion having the reduced effective sectional area is greater than the ratio of the outer conductor inner diameter to the inner conductor outer diameter at the other portions of the inner conductor which latter ratio provides the coaxial transmission line with a given characteristic impedance.
