An odor generation alarm and a method for informing an unusual situation having a high attention attracting effect and a high degree of safety are provided. An odor generation alarm includes an odorant receptacle, a drive section, a detector and a circuit section which is a controller. The odorant receptacle contains an odorant. A concentration of the odorant in air at which a person can no longer tolerate a strength of smell is lower than a no observed effect concentration of the odorant. The drive section causes the odorant to be emitted from the odorant receptacle. The detector detects occurrence of an unusual situation, and outputs a detection signal. When the detection signal from the detector is inputted, the controller causes the drive section to emit the odorant in accordance with the detection signal.

Odor generation alarm and method for informing unusual situation

[Problem] To provide a disease diagnostic system capable of diagnosing with high accuracy whether a subject is afflicted with a disease, without inflicting pain on the subject. [Means for Resolution] The disease diagnostic system includes collecting means () for collecting a substance (e.g., aspiration, sweat, human waste or urine) emitting an odor (e.g., mouth odor, body odor or underarm odor) and storing the same therein, measuring means () for measuring whether an indicated substance indicative of the existence of a disease is contained in the odor-emitting substance stored in the collecting means (), and control means () for processing a signal indicative of a result of measurement by the measuring means () to determine whether the subject () is being afflicted with a disease.

Disease diagnostic system

A fire alarm device and method capable of informing people with visual and hearing difficulties of occurrence of fire. A fire detection means () detecting the occurrence of fire is connected to an emission control means (). A smell emitting means () activated by the emission control meansis also connected to the emission control means (). The fire detection means () activates the emission control means () when detecting the occurrence of fire. The emission control means () is provided with a smell condition-setting means so as to set starting time for continuously-emitted smell, and to set emission periods, emission intervals and emission concentrations for intermittently-emitted smell. The smell emitting means () will be activated in accordance with the conditions set by the smell condition-setting means.
