Provided is a heat-shrinkable polyester film that suppresses deterioration of the shrinkage finish property associated with a decline in performance during aging and does not loosen even after being used as a label. This heat-shrinkable polyester film comprising a polyester of a predetermined composition fulfills all of the following: (1) a ratio A1/A2 of the absorbancy (A1) at 1340 cmand the absorbancy (A2) at 1410 cmof the film measured by polarized ATR-FTIR from 0.45 to 0.75 or from 0.40 to less than 0.45 in either the width direction or longitudinal direction of the film; (2) a ratio (shrinkage stress after 30 seconds/maximum shrinkage stress) of the shrinkage stress after 30 seconds when the film is heat shrunk for 30 seconds in 90&#xb0; C. hot air (shrinkage stress after 30 seconds) and the maximum shrinkage stress of from 75% to 100%; and (3) a hot-water shrinkage in the width direction of from 30% to 55% when, after aging the film for 672 hours in a 30&#xb0; C. 85% RH atmosphere, the aged film is dipped in 70&#xb0; C. water for 10 seconds.

A thermally shrinkable polyester film comprising polyester resin in which ethylene terephthalate is a main constituting component and not less than 13 molar % of one or more monomer component(s) which can become non-crystalline component is/are contained in the total polyester resin components, wherein the film has specific thermally shrinking characteristics and specific mechanical characteristics after thermal shrinking treatment.

The invention provides a heat-shrinkable polyester-based film containing ethylene terephthalate as a main constituent component and 0-5 mol % of a monomer component that can be an amorphous component based on all of the polyester resin components. The inventive film has a main shrinkage direction in the longitudinal direction, with heat shrinkage properties in the longitudinal direction and the width direction and a refractive index within specified ranges.

Disclosed is a heat-shrinkable polyester film which, even when stored in an outside warehouse which is not temperature-controlled during a hot summer, does not result in the film shrinking (so-called natural shrinkage); which further has a low decrease in shrinkage rate in the main shrinkage direction, and which can be attached aesthetically and efficiently without changing the temperature conditions for causing heat shrinkage when attaching as a label by heat-shrinking the same to a container (e.g., a plastic bottle). The disclosed heat-shrinkable polyester film comprises a polyester resin having ethylene terephthalate as a main component and containing at least 7 mol % of at least one monomer capable of forming an amorphous component in the whole component of polyester resin. In the heat-shrinkable polyester film, the 80&#xb0; C.-120&#xb0; C. glycerin shrinkage, the natural shrinkage rate after high temperature aging, and the number of initial break age after high-temperature aging are adjusted within a specific range.

Provided is a heat-shrinkable polyester-based film having: a slow shrinkage speed; a shrinkage rate that increases gently with the increase of temperature; a large shrinkage stress; and an excellent shrinkage finish. This heat-shrinkable polyester-based film is characterized in that: the ratio (A1/A2) between the absorbancy (A1) at 1340 cmof the heat-shrinkable polyester-based film measured by the polarized ATR-FTIR method and the absorbancy (A2) at 1410 cmis from 0.65 to 0.9 in the main shrinkage direction of the film and from 0.45 to 0.75 in the direction orthogonal to the main shrinkage direction; and the warm-water heat shrinkage rate for when the film is immersed in 90-degree warm water for 10 seconds is from 40% to 60% in the main shrinkage direction of the film and from 0% to 12% in the direction orthogonal to the main shrinkage direction.

Disclosed is a void-containing heat-shrinkable polyester film which is composed of at least two layers, wherein at least one of the layers is a polyester resin layer comprising a cyclic polyolefin resin and containing voids. The film has an apparent specific gravity of less than 1.00 and has specified heat shrinking properties and mechanical properties. Also disclosed is a void-containing heat-shrinkable polyester film as mentioned above, which exhibits specified cuttability along a perforation. Also provided are: a label; and a process for producing the film with high productivity. Disclosed is a heat shrinkable polyester film formed from a polyester resin that is mainly composed of ethylene terephthalate and contains 3-12% by mole (inclusive) of one or more monomer components, which can be amorphous components, relative to all the polyester resin components, in which the heat shrinkable polyester film has a main shrinkage direction which is the width direction. The heat shrinkable polyester film is characterized in that the shrinkage in 80&#xb0; C. glycerin, the shrinkage in 130&#xb0; C. glycerin and the tensile breaking strength in the longitudinal direction are controlled within specific ranges.

The inventive heat-shrinkable polyolefin film is high in shrinkability in the longitudinal direction that is its main shrinkage direction and excellent in finish properties after shrinkage, perforated line openability, and thermal blocking resistance. A biaxially oriented polyamide laminate film having a layered structure of A/B, A/B/A or A/B/C, layer A having no projections with a height of 0.27 &#x3bc;m or higher on the surface, or having a density of projections with a height of 0.27 &#x3bc;m or higher on the surface of 200 projections/mm, and the film exhibiting a maximum dimensional change of 4% or less during immersion in 95&#xb0; C. hot water, a maximum dimensional change of 6% or less after withdrawal from the hot water, and a maximum dimensional change of 4% or less after heat treatment in dry hot air at 160&#xb0; C.; and a process for producing the same. This film reduces the differences in physical properties in the width direction that occurs in a tenter and exhibits excellent adhesive properties, resistance to fatigue from flexing and operability, and can be provided economically.
