A print control device is configured to perform operations including: determining whether to execute a preflight processing for checking a print job based on a print setting information and a condition information specifying a condition for executing the preflight processing; upon determining to execute the preflight processing, executing the preflight processing and then generating a print output information for printing an image on a print sheet based on a print job information; and upon determining not to execute the preflight processing, generating the print output information based on the print job information without executing the preflight processing.

An image processing device accepts a user-defined code, which is a command that implements a process desired by a user and is written in the same page description language as a print job to be processed, and merges the print job to be processed and the user-defined code.

Automatic region extracting means () extracts rectangle regions having attributes of 'character', 'photograph', &#x201c;table&#x201d;, &#x201c;ruled line&#x201d;, &#x201c;frame&#x201d; from input image data through Image input means () and stores the information of the extracted rectangle regions into Modification information storage means (). Display means () displays the input image including the extracted rectangle regions according to the information of the extracted rectangle regions. The operator selects desired extracted rectangle regions in the input image on a display screen and specifies the kind of the modification for the selected rectangle regions by using Operation means (). Thereby, the information of both the selected rectangle regions and specified modifications are stored in Modification information storage means (). Modification image making means () then makes the image data modified based on the information of the selected rectangle regions, the specified modification information, and the input image data, and Image output means () outputs the modified image.
