Provided are an anode capable of preventing an increase in impedance and variations in characteristics and a battery using the anode. An anode active material layer includes at least one kind selected from the group consisting of simple substances, alloys and compounds of silicon and the like capable of forming an alloy with Li. The anode active material layer is formed by a vapor-phase deposition method or the like, and is alloyed with an anode current collector. A coating including lithium carbonate is formed on at least a part of a surface of the anode current collector. Thereby, an increase in impedance can be prevented. Moreover, the anode is less subject to an influence by a difference in a handling environment or storage conditions, so variations in impedance can be prevented.

Disclosed herein is a method for driving an image display apparatus including: an image display panel whereon pixels each having first to third sub-pixels are laid out in first and second directions to form a 2-dimensional matrix, at least each specific pixel and an adjacent pixel adjacent to the specific pixel in the first direction are used as first and second pixels respectively to create one of pixel groups, and a fourth sub-pixel is placed between the first and second pixels in each of the pixel groups; and a signal processing section configured to generate first to third sub-pixel output signals for the first pixel on the basis of respectively first to third sub-pixel input signals and to generate first to third sub-pixel output signals for the second pixel on the basis of respectively first to third sub-pixel input signals.

Provided is a battery capable of obtaining superior cycle characteristics. The battery comprises a cylindrical type spirally wound body including a spirally wound laminate of a cathode and an anode with a separator in which an electrolyte solution is impregnated. The anode includes an anode current collector, an outer anode active material layer disposed on an outer winding surface of the anode current collector and an inner anode active material layer disposed on an inner winding surface of the anode current collector. The outer anode active material layer and the inner anode active material layer include Si, Sn or a compound thereof. The capacity ratio between the outer anode active material layer and the inner anode active material layer in at least one region is within a range of 0.6 to 0.8 inclusive.

Image display apparatus and driving method thereof, and image display apparatus assembly and driving method thereof

A battery capable of improving cycle characteristics is provided. An anode active material layer is formed by a vapor phase method, and includes Si as an element. In the anode active material layer, a plurality of primary particles formed by growth in a thickness direction are included, and the plurality of primary particles are agglomerated to form a plurality of secondary particles. Each secondary particle is separated by a groove formed by charge and discharge, and some of primary particles are split particles split by the groove. The average number of the split particles per secondary particle in 5 or more adjacent secondary particles is 10 or more. Moreover, the primary particles and the secondary particles are inclined to the same side.

Battery and method of manufacturing the same

The invention provides an anode capable of inhibiting collapse of a shape of an anode active material layer and a side reaction with an electrolyte in accordance with the collapse, and inhibiting reduction in a battery capacity, and a battery using it. The anode comprises an anode current collector and the anode active material layer. The anode active material layer has a first layer containing Sn and a second layer containing an element other than Sn capable of electrochemically inserting and extracting Li. A component element of the anode current collector is preferably diffused in both the first layer and the second layer.

Anode and battery using it

An anode, and a battery using the anode is provided. The anode has a structure in which an anode current collector, an anode active material layer and a protective layer are laminated in this order. The anode active material layer includes Sn, and is alloyed with the anode current collector in at least a portion of an interface with the anode current collector. The protective layer include an element constituting a simple substance with a higher melting point than Sn such as C, Si or W, and not forming a compound with Sn. Thereby, even if the anode wound into a roll is subjected to heat treatment, fusion bonding between adjacent anodes can be prevented.

Anode and battery using the same

A solid-electrolyte secondary battery is provided which comprises a positive electrode, negative electrode and a solid electrolyte provided between the electrodes. The solid electrolyte contains as a matrix polymer a fluorocarbon polymer of 550,000 in weight-average molecular weight (Mw). The fluorocarbon polymer having a weight-average molecular weight of more than 550,000 shows an excellent adhesion to the active material layers of the positive and negative layers. Therefore, the high polymer solid (or gel) electrolyte adheres to the active material layers of the electrodes with a sufficient adhesive strength. A fluorocarbon polymer having a weight-average molecular weight (Mw) over 300,000 and under 550,000 may be used in combination with a fluorocarbon polymer of 550,000 or more in weight-average molecular weight to lower the viscosity for facilitating the formation of a film of the electrolyte.

Solid electrolytic secondary battery

A solid-electrolyte secondary battery is provided which comprises a positive electrode, negative electrode and a solid electrolyte provided between the electrodes. The solid electrolyte contains as a matrix polymer a vinylidene fluoride/hexafluoropropylene block copolymer. The film of the block copolymer has a high mechanical toughness and solvent retaining capability. Use of this block copolymer film as the matrix polymer of the solid electrolyte greatly improves the adhesive strength, load characteristic and low-temperature performance. In the block copolymer, the proportion of hexafluoropropylene should preferably be 3 to 7.5% by weight. The molecular weight should preferably be of over 550,000. A block copolymer of over 300,000 in Mw and under 550,000 in Mw is used in combination with the above one.
