A manufacturing method of a trim cover surface material, includes: providing a jig including a first frame configured to hold an outer periphery of an outer material and a second frame configured to hold an outer periphery of a wadding material by overlapping the wadding material on the outer material which is held by the first frame; holding the outer periphery of the outer material with the first frame of the jig; forming through holes at the outer material which is held by the jig; holding the outer periphery of the wadding material with the second frame of the jig while the outer material is held by the first frame of the jig; and forming stitches at the outer material and the wadding material which are overlapped and held by the jig.

An interior part of vehicle capable of improving in design property is manufactured by joining a plurality of pieces of a layered cloth having at least a skin material and a cushion material. The plurality of pieces to be joined are processed with continuous stitches, and the pieces joined with the stitch processing are sewn up, with the front surfaces put together, along ends to be joined. One of the joined plurality of pieces is folded, thus the plurality of pieces are provided, with the front surfaces facing vehicle interior space.

In the trim cover formed by sewing the plurality of skin materials, the inclining direction of the seam allowances of the two sewn skin materials can be easily made constant so as to suppress the meandering of the sewing line of the two skin materials, and the appearance quality of the vehicle seat covered with the trim cover can be improved.

Sewing device for sewing first and second strips of sealing materials with respective first and second base materials. A first guide through-hole, through which the first strip of sealing material passes, is formed in a presser foot of the sewing device adjacent to a needle hole formed in the latter. A second guide though-hole, through which the second strip of sealing material passes, is formed in a feed dog member of the sewing device at a point adjacent to that needle hole. The automated sewing device itself includes several known constitutional elements similar to those of the earlier described prior-art automated sewing devices. Namely, a known sewing machine (M) having a sewing needle (), a pressure foot member (), and a feed dog member () is fixedly provided on a table (), and a stationary guide plate () having a pair of first and second guide grooves (A)(B) formed therein is fixedly mounted on the table (). And, movably attached on that stationary guide plate () is a movable guide plate () which has a pair of guide rollers ()() rotatably provided on the reverse side thereof. Designation () denotes a guide member disposed adjacent to the sewing needle (), which is so designed that both end portions () and () respectively of the first and second base materials ()() will be slidably contacted therewith and thereby be guided in a direction to that sewing needle ().

Automated sewing device

An automated sewing device including a stationary guide element and a movable guide element movably provided on said stationary guide element, the movable guide element allowing one base material to be placed thereon. A plurality of movable sections are defined in the movable guide element and movably connected with one another, such that each of the plurality of movable sections is foldable upwardly relative to the movable guide element, thereby avoiding contact of the movable guide element with a worker who operates the sewing device. The movable guide element may include an area recessed toward a sewing machine of the automatic sewing device, thereby allowing the worker to easily move to guide another base material and along the said one base material while in operation.

An automated feeding mechanism for sewing machine is comprised of: a rotary support element rotatably mounted on a table in the vicinity of the sewing machine having a feed dog member; and support elements provided on one side of the rotary support element. A trim cover assembly may be attached on the rotary support element, such that the arcuate peripheral cover section thereof is supported on the support elements and also temporarily retained thereon by a clamp element. A hard synthetic resin material may be stored in that mechanism. With this feeding mechanism, upon rotation of the rotary support element, the arcuate peripheral cover section supported on the support elements and the hard synthetic resin material juxtaposed with that peripheral cover section are smoothly and precisely fed to the sewing machine and thereby sewn together.

Automated feeding mechanism for sewing machine

A system for supplying and setting two separate base materials in a neat condition ready to be sewn by a sewing machine, which includes a supplying mechanism and a setting mechanism. A first one of the two base materials is automatically supplied by operation of the supplying mechanism to a movable guide plate movable toward the sewing machine, and then automatically set at a predetermined position thereon by operation of the setting mechanism, after which, another of the two base materials is likewise automatically set and juxtaposed on the thus-set first base material. The supplying mechanism includes a robot-hand unit for catching one of the two base materials and a transfer element for transferring the robot-hand unit to the movable guide plate. The setting mechanism includes setting elements for bringing both two base materials to the foregoing predetermined position so that they may be set in a neatly juxtaposed condition, and a partition plate for partitioning the two base materials from each other at that predetermined position.
