The present invention provides a contact lens having novel myopia progression suppression capability, while enabling a good QOV to be obtained and ensuring myopia is kept from progressing. A contact lens having a refractive correction power for correcting myopia and myopic astigmatism set in a central region of an optical part, wherein a positive addition power in comparison with a power in the central region is set in a peripheral region of the optical part so that progression of the myopia or myopic astigmatism is suppressed, a positioning member is provided that specifies a circumferential position of the lens under a worn condition, and a lens optical axis of the optical part is set offset from a lens geometric center to align with a line of sight of a human eye under the worn condition produced by the positioning member.

Contact lens having myopia progression suppression capability, and contact lens set having myopia progression suppression capability

Provided is a contact lens of double thin type ensuring a comfortable wearing sensation, enabling improvement of oxygen permeability and tear exchange, and having a novel structure. An optical zone having no deviation of a center of gravity by a prism is formed. A pair of thin portions extending circumferentially and having a constant thickness are formed on both upper and lower sides of a peripheral zone, and a pair of thick portions extending circumferentially and having a thickness larger than that of the thin portions are formed on both left and right sides. One or more concavities are positioned symmetrically in a left-right direction during wear in a posterior surface of each of the thick portions. A minimum thickness at a portion where the concavity is formed is larger than the thickness of the thin portions.

A contact lens including a circumferential positioning member that can selectively set up a first stable state where a superficial center of a second power zone is decentered on a symmetrical meridian from a geometrical center of an optical zone and an orthogonal meridian perpendicular to the symmetrical meridian with the lens worn on a right eye is circumferentially tilted by a first angle relative to a vertical line of the eye, and a second stable state where the orthogonal meridian under condition in which the lens is worn on a left eye with the right eye wearing state inverted upside down is circumferentially tilted by a second angle on the opposite side of the first angle relative to the vertical line, as well as a visible indicator mark for identifying a lens orientation.

Tilted-wear type contact lens

A wearing-orientation selectable contact lens including: an optical zone; a first diopter power region provided in the optical zone; and a second diopter power region having a lens power that is more positive than that of the first diopter power region. A superficial center of the second diopter power region is decentered on a symmetrical meridian from a geometric center of the optical zone. A circumferential positioning member is provided so as to selectively set up: a first stable state where the superficial center of the second diopter power region is positioned to one of left and right side of the eye, and a second stable state where the superficial center of the second diopter power region is positioned to another of left and right side of the eye. A visible indicator mark is provided for identifying a lens orientation of the first stable state and the second stable state.

Wearing-orientation selectable contact lens

Disclosed is a method of designing an ophthalmic lens including the steps of: (a) determining a preliminary lens shape by preliminary determining a shape of the ophthalmic lens; and (b) varying the preliminary lens shape so as to adjust a position of an image surface at which MTF value is maximized, such that the position of the image surface matches a desired focal length of said ophthalmic lens. A resulting ophthalmic lens constructed according to this method is also disclosed.

Multifocal ocular lens including a central vision correction region having a first optical power value, an outer vision correction region spaced radially outwardly from the central vision correction region and having a second optical power value different from the first optical power value, and an intermediate vision correction region located radially intermediate between the central and outer vision correction regions and having a distribution of optical power between the first and second optical power values, and wherein the intermediate region has a first transition point and a second transition point which is not radially inwardly spaced from the first transition point, such that the distribution of the optical power of the intermediate region includes two optical power values which are defined by the first and second transition points, respectively, and which are determined such that the optical power value defined by the second transition point is closer to the first optical power value of the central region than the optical power value defined by the first transition point.
