A collision detection device includes a chamber member, a pressure sensor, a collision detection ECU, and a projecting portion. The chamber member is disposed on a vehicle-front side of a bumper reinforcement in a bumper cover and includes a chamber main body having therein a hollow portion. The pressure sensor detects pressure in the hollow portion of the chamber main body. A clearance is formed between the chamber member and a front surface of the bumper reinforcement at least on a part of a rear surface of the chamber main body. The collision detection ECU detects a collision of an object with the bumper cover based on a pressure detection result by the pressure sensor. The projecting portion is provided to project from the rear surface of the chamber main body, and an end of the projecting portion is in contact with the front surface of the bumper reinforcement.

An occupant detection sensor includes a sensor member disposed on a surface of a vehicle seat and detecting sitting of an occupant, a wiring member electrically coupling the sensor member with an external device, and a covering member covering the sensor member and the wiring member. The wiring member and the covering member are included in a coupling section that is disposed along the surface of the vehicle seat. The coupling section includes a bent portion and a stress absorbing portion that absorbs stress generated at the bent portion.

A seating sensor reliably senses an adult or a child seated on a vehicle seat, and prevents incorrect sensing of a seated occupant when a piece of luggage is placed on the seat. The seating sensor includes a first sensor cell, a second sensor cell connected in series with the first sensor cell and disposed on the front side of the seat beyond the first sensor cell, and a third sensor cell connected in series with the first sensor cell, connected in parallel with the second sensor cell, and disposed on the rear side of the seat beyond the first sensor cell.

A seat sensor for a vehicle seat having a seat face portion includes a plurality of sensor cells. One of two electrodes of each sensor cell contacts an other one of the two electrodes to make the each of the plurality of sensor cells become electrically conductive when the each of the plurality of sensor cells is applied with a load. A first one of the plurality of sensor cells is displaced from a second one of the plurality of sensor cells in a longitudinal direction and in a transverse direction of the vehicle. One of the two electrodes of the second one of the plurality of sensor cells is directly and exclusively connected in series with one of the two electrode of the first one of the plurality of sensor cells.

Seat sensor

An occupant detection system includes occupant sensors on each of plural seats, first resistors in connection to each of the occupant sensors with different resistance values, a power supply line that supplies electric power to the sensors and resistors from a power source by connecting those parts and the power source, and a control unit that detects occupancy of each of the plural seats based on an electric current value of the power supply line. The occupant detection system having the above configuration detects the occupancy of each of the plural seats without increasing the number of input terminals on the control unit.

A load sensor is provided as a seat sensor that includes a first film formed in a linear shape, a second film formed in the same shape as the first film and arranged facing the first film, sensor electrodes arranged between the first film and the second film facing each other. The electrodes are normally spaced apart from each other and come in contact with each other upon receiving a load. The electrodes are connected to a connector through a conducting portion arranged between the first film and the second film. The seat sensor is disposed on a seat where a large compressive force is applied by a passenger.
