A mechanism for measuring an amount of a liquid composition and discharging it, and a quantitative dispensing container and a quantitative applicator including such a mechanism including a base and a head defining a measurement space therebetween. The base and the head are configured to be capable of changing the volume of the measurement space in response to a predetermined operation of the head including a measurement operation for increasing the volume of the measurement space and a discharge operation for reducing the volume of the measurement space. The base includes a first passageway for allowing the composition to flow from the outside into the measurement space, and a first check valve located on the first passageway. An injector comprises a cylindrical barrel, a movable body housed in the barrel, and a plunger coming into separable contact with the movable body. The movable body includes a main body having an outer diameter smaller than an inner diameter of the barrel, a disk-shaped seal body disposed on the main body and including an outer circumferential end brought into close contact with an inner circumferential surface of the barrel, and at least one projecting portion projecting from the main body toward the inner circumferential surface of the barrel. A distance from a central axis of the movable body to a leading end of the at least one projecting portion is smaller than a half of an outer diameter of the seal body.

Syringe

It is an object of the present invention to provide a syringe which is capable of preventing an accident such that a patient inadvertently sticks her/his hand with an injection needle when improperly performing a needle retracting operation. A sleeve () is fitted around a syringe barrel () so as to be axially movable from an administration position such that the injection needle () projects to a distill side to an accommodation position such that the injection needle () is accommodated. A coil spring () for biasing the sleeve () toward the accommodation position is provided between the sleeve () and the syringe barrel (), and is held in a compressed state in a spring holder (). The spring holder () is disposed in association with the syringe barrel () so as to release the coil spring by further pushing the syringe barrel () to the distal side after completion of the administration of a liquid drug. The sleeve () is axially engaged with the syringe barrel () so as to be locked at the accommodation position when being moved to the accommodation position by a biasing force of the coil spring ().

There is provided a snap-on vial cap with a protective cover, which can be removed from a cap body by a constant removal force, and can hardly be attached to the cap body again, once being removed. A cap bodyand a protective coverare molded integrally by an insert molding method or a two-color-molding method, which generates moderate adhesive strength therebetween. An annular convex portionhaving a concave sectionformed on the outer circumferential surface thereof is provided on the cap body, and an engagement portionfor engaging with the concave sectionis provided on the protective cover, thereby enabling the protective coverto be easily removed from the cap bodywith good operativity while preventing the protective coverfrom accidentally detaching. Alternatively, projectionsprovided on a top plate of the cap bodyare engaged into a plugto prevent the capfrom rotating.
