The present invention makes it possible to restrain a bill from being taken out from a money withdrawal section during a transaction while the convenience of a conventional bill handling machine is maintained. The present invention is a bill handling machine to deposit and withdraw a bill with a customer over the counter, and the bill handling machine includes: a money deposit section having a money deposit opening to deposit a bill; a money withdrawal section arranged adjacently to the money deposit section and having a money withdrawal opening to withdraw a bill and a shutter to open and close the money withdrawal opening; and a control section to transport a reject bill to the money withdrawal opening.

Bill handling machine and bill handling method

Provided is a paper money handling apparatus of which the security of a paper money process unit is improved, the jam is easily removed, and the layout is easily changed while the operability thereof is ensured. The paper money handling apparatus includes a repository, a temporary storage container, and a money deposit/withdrawal slot. The repository is provided inside a safe so as to store paper money therein. The temporary storage container is provided inside the safe so as to temporarily store deposited paper money therein during a transaction. The money deposit/withdrawal slot serves as an entry/exit opening of a paper money passageway provided at the upper part of the safe so as to communicate with the repository and the temporary storage container.

Paper money handling apparatus

Provided is a technique for improving banknote manageability in a banknote handling device. This banknote handling device is provided with multiple banknote storage compartments where banknotes are stored, and a banknote loading compartment where banknotes are stored that are to be loaded in each of the banknote storage compartments. This banknote handling device is provided with a banknote determination unit which obtains the serial numbers of banknotes in conveyance between the banknote storage compartments and the banknote loading compartment, and a conveyance path which conveys banknotes from the banknote loading compartment to the banknote storage compartments via the banknote determination unit. A main control unit of the banknote handling device controls the conveyance path, and, while loading the banknotes from the banknote loading compartment into each of the banknote storage compartments, performs banknote loading processing in which the serial numbers of the banknotes are obtained from the banknote determination unit.
