A laminated film is provided between a transparent conductive film and a counter substrate so that the laminated film is in contact with the transparent conductive film and the counter substrate. The laminated film includes a first low refractive index layer, a first high refractive index layer, a second low refractive index layer, and a second high refractive index layer. In the direction from the transparent conductive film toward the counter substrate, the first low refractive index layer, the first high refractive index layer, the second low refractive index layer, and the second high refractive index layer are provided to exist in order of the first low refractive index layer, the first high refractive index layer, the second low refractive index layer, and the second high refractive index layer. Each of the first low refractive index layer and the second low refractive index layer is made of a first material. The refractive index of light of the first material is in the range of 1.4 to 1.6. Each of the first high refractive index layer and the second high refractive index layer is made of a second material. The refractive index of light of the second material is in the range of 1.9 to 2.1.

Liquid crystal display device

A liquid crystal display apparatus of the present invention includes a housing holding an outer peripheral portion of a liquid crystal panel with gap portions provided in a central portion thereof such that a curvature of a curved shape is variable when a surface pressing stress is applied, in which columnar spacers are arranged at a higher density in a region of the central portion in a curve direction than in a region of a peripheral portion, the density being the density of the columnar spacers holding a gap between glass substrates in a display region of the curved liquid crystal panel.

Liquid crystal display apparatus

An array substrate includes inter-pixel patterns. A counter substrate includes light-shielding patterns. In a case where a position of an inter-pixel pattern to be noticed is displaced from a peak of a curved shape to a peripheral section of a display area, a shift amount of the position of a light-shielding pattern to be noticed when the counter substrate is in a flat state from the position of the inter-pixel pattern to be noticed when the array substrate is in a flat state first increases and then decreases. Alternatively, a substrate that is one of the array substrate and the counter substrate includes light-shielding patterns. In a case where a position of a light-shielding pattern to be noticed is displaced from a peak of a curved shape to a peripheral section of a display area, a width of the light-shielding pattern to be noticed first increases and then decreases.
