A liquid crystal display device is provided with a display substrate, an array substrate, a liquid crystal layer sandwiched between the display substrate and the array substrate, and control circuitry. The display substrate includes a touch sensing line. The array substrate includes a common electrode having a constant potential, a first insulating layer provided under the common electrode, a pixel electrode provided under the first insulating layer, a second insulating layer provided under the pixel electrode, a conductive line electrically connected to the common electrode under the second insulating layer, a third insulating layer provided under the conductive line, and a first active element and a second active element provided under the third insulating layer and electrically connected to the pixel electrode.

A display device substrate includes a transparent substrate, a frame member disposed on the transparent substrate and formed in a frame region surrounding a display region, a first transparent resin layer formed on the transparent substrate having the frame member formed thereon, a black matrix formed on the first transparent resin layer such that the display region is divided into plural openings in a matrix form, and a second transparent resin layer formed on the first transparent resin layer on which the black matrix is formed. The frame member includes carbon as a major colorant and has a light shielding property, and the black matrix includes at least one organic pigment as a major colorant.

A liquid crystal display device includes a display device substrate including a first touch sensing wiring, an array substrate including a second touch sensing wiring orthogonally intersecting the first touch sensing wiring, a liquid crystal layer disposed between the display device substrate and the array substrate, a controller that supplies a positive first image signal to the first source wiring, supplies a negative second image to the second source wiring, applies a liquid crystal display voltage between the pixel electrode and the common electrode being synchronized to supply of the first image signal and the second image signal, thereby driving the liquid crystal layer, performing an image display, and applying a voltage to the second touch sensing wiring after performing the image display.

The counter substrate has the first wiring layer, a black matrix, and a first transparent resin layer laminated in this order. The black matrix has a line width larger than a line width (MW) of the first wiring layer, overlapping the first wiring layer so as to include a pattern of the first wiring layer. The active element is covered with a light shielding pattern via a first insulation layer. A change in electrostatic capacitance produced between the first wiring layer and the second wiring layer is detected.

A black electrode substrate includes a transparent substrate having a first surface and a second surface opposite to the first surface, the second surface having a display region in a rectangular shape in plan view and an outer region outside of the display region, a black wiring forming a black electrode pattern that defines a plurality of pixel opening portions in the display region, and a transparent resin layer formed in the display region such that the transparent resin layer has the same rectangular shape as the display region in plan view. The black wiring has a laminated structure including a first black layer, a first indium-containing layer, a copper-containing layer, a second indium-containing layer, and a second black layer. A liquid crystal display device includes a display unit including a display substrate, an array substrate, and a liquid crystal layer. The display substrate includes a first transparent substrate, one or more light absorbing resin layers, a touch electrode layer, a transparent resin layer, and a transparent electrode layer. The light absorbing resin layer is patterned such that resin portions and an opening portion are formed. The touch electrode layer is patterned such that touch electrode portions are each extended in a first direction perpendicular to a lamination direction. The touch electrode layer and the light absorbing resin layer have a same pattern such that the touch electrode portions and the resin portions overlap with one another when viewed in the lamination direction. The transparent electrode layer is patterned such that transparent electrode portions are each extended in a second direction perpendicular to the lamination direction and the first direction.

A liquid crystal display device includes a counter substrate facing an array substrate via a liquid crystal layer, and a backlight unit provided on a back side of the array substrate. A liquid crystal display device includes an array substrate, a liquid crystal layer, and a color filter substrate facing the array substrate through the liquid crystal layer. The color filter substrate includes a carbon light-shielding layer, an organic pigment light-shielding layer, and color filters formed such that the organic pigment light-shielding layer overlaps with at least one of the color filters in a direction perpendicular to a substrate plane. An electrode plate for display device includes a substrate and a multi-layered conductive film. The multi-layered conductive film includes a lower side amorphous oxide layer, a silver-based layer, and an upper side amorphous oxide layer. The lower side amorphous oxide layer and the upper side amorphous oxide layer are formed of an amorphous and amorphous-like material. The film thickness of the upper side amorphous oxide layer is not larger than 20 nm.
