The present invention is directed to an acrylic resin composition obtained by adding a non-crosslinked polymer powder having a bulk density within the range from 0.1 to 0.7 g/ml, an oil absorption based on linseed oil within the range from 60 to 200 ml/100 g and a degree of swelling by methyl methacrylate of 16-fold or more as a thickening agent to acrylic syrup; and acrylic premix obtained by mixing an inorganic filler with this composition; and acrylic premix obtained by extruding constituent components by a kneading extruder to continuously form the mixture; and a method for producing an acrylic artificial marble in which these acrylic premixes are cured.

An acrylic polymer powdery material, which is a particularly useful powdery material as a modifier for cementitious material, comprising fine particles of a core-shell structure comprising a core polymer being comprised of an acrylic polymer having a glass transition temperature (Tg) of &minus;20-&plus;15&deg; C., a weight average molecular weight of 100000-2000000, an acid value of 25 mg KOH/g or less and a shell polymer being comprised of an acrylic polymer having a Tg of 50-90&deg; C., a weight average molecular weight of 100000-2000000, an acid value of 30-130 mg KOH/g, wherein the weight ratio of the core polymer and shell polymer is 30/70-80/20 (% by weight).

Powdery material and modifier for cementitious material

A phosphor paste composition is disclosed, which uses as an organic binder an acrylic polymer obtained by copolymerizing an alkyl methacrylate as a principal component with a specific amount of at least one monomer selected from unsaturated carboxylic acids and hydroxyalkyl (meth)acrylates. Also disclosed is a phosphor paste composition making use of a phosphor having a volume average particle size in a range of 1-7 .mu.m, with particles having a particle size of 1-9 .mu.m accounting for at least 60 wt.%. These phosphor paste compositions have excellent firing characteristics and provide phosphor coatings excellent in both light-emitting characteristics and resolution.

Method for manufacturing color phosphor surface

A process is described for the formation of an undercoat which is in turn useful in forming a CRT metal back layer. According to the process, a pretreatment composition is coated on a glass panel having a fluorescent layer overlaid thereon, so that a water film is formed. The pretreatment composition is composed of 2-20 wt. % of an alkyl monoalcohol having a C.sub.1-3 alkyl group, 0.05-1 wt. % of a water-soluble, high molecular compound and 79-97.95 wt. % of water. An undercoating composition is then coated on the water film by a wet-on-wet coating method, whereby a coating layer is formed. The undercoating composition is composed of 1-7 parts by weight of an acrylic resin, which has been obtained by polymerizing 90-100 wt. % of an alkyl methacrylate having a C.sub.1-4 alkyl group other than tertbutyl methacrylate and 0-10 wt. % of an ethylenically unsaturated monomer copolymerizable therewith, and 99-93 parts by weight of a solvent containing at least 80 wt. % of toluene. The sum of the acrylic resin and the solvent is 100 parts by weight. The water film and the coating layer are dried to form the undercoat.
