A liquid ejection system includes a first head unit and a second head unit. The first head unit includes a first determining circuit that determines whether a first power supply voltage is normal, a first drive circuit that outputs a first drive signal based on the first power supply voltage, and a first ejecting head that ejects liquid The second head unit includes a second determining circuit that determines whether a second power supply voltage is normal, a second drive circuit that outputs a second drive signal based on the second power supply voltage, and a second ejecting head that ejects liquid When the first determining circuit determines that the first power supply voltage is not normal, or when the second determining circuit determines that the second power supply voltage is not normal, the first ejecting head and the second ejecting head stop ejecting the liquid.

The second buffer mechanism is configured to reduce a buffer capacity as the recovery channel is decompressed.

A liquid ejecting apparatus includes: a liquid ejecting head including a liquid chamber which communicates with a nozzle; a supply flow path having a first end connected to a liquid supply source and a second end connected to the liquid chamber; a first circulation flow path having a first end connected to the liquid chamber and a second end connected to a first connecting section in the supply flow path; a supply pump provided in the supply flow path; a first pressure regulating valve provided between the first connecting section and the liquid ejecting head in the supply flow path; a second pressure regulating valve provided in the first circulation flow path; a circulation pump provided in the first circulation flow path and configured to circulate the liquid in a downstream direction; and an opening mechanism configured to forcibly open the first pressure regulating valve.

Liquid ejecting apparatus, liquid filling method, and air bubble discharging method

A liquid ejecting apparatus includes a liquid ejecting head that ejects liquid through a nozzle, a supply flow path that supplies liquid from a liquid container containing liquid to the liquid ejecting head, a liquid chamber provided in a buffer chamber disposed in the supply flow path, the liquid chamber being configured to change in volume, a liquid feeding unit of a reversible type disposed in the supply flow path between the liquid container and the liquid chamber, a control portion that controls driving of the liquid feeding unit, and a suction unit that suctions liquid through the nozzle. The control portion controls the liquid feeding unit to perform reverse feeding of the liquid from the liquid chamber to the liquid container before the suction unit suctions the liquid through the nozzle.

Recording apparatus

A recording apparatus includes a transportation mechanism that supports and transports a recording medium by a support surface; a recording head that is disposed in a region facing the support surface and is capable of ejecting an ink from a nozzle provided on an ink ejection surface to the recording medium; a suction unit that is capable of sucking the ink inside the nozzle; and a wiping unit that is provided as a separate body from the suction unit and is capable of wiping the ink ejection surface. At least one of the suction unit and the wiping unit is provided on a farther downstream side of the recording medium in a transportation direction than the recording head and a gap between the one and the support surface is wider than a gap between the ink ejection surface and the support surface.

A printer has two separate movable blades, a stationary blade, and a movable blade drive mechanism for driving the movable blades against the stationary blade. Such mechanism may link and drive the movable blades to cut the roll paper against the stationary blade such that one movable blade leads and the other follows. The printer may further include a main frame with a roll paper compartment and a printing mechanism for printing on the roll paper, a cover frame movably connected to the main frame and having an openable cover for the roll paper compartment, a movable blade frame disposed to the main frame for supporting the movable blades with the blade tips in opposition, and a stationary blade frame disposed to the cover frame for supporting the stationary blade in a position substantially transverse to the paper transportation path during cutting.

Paper cutting device and printer having a paper cutting device

A printer has a main frame with a roll paper compartment for storing roll paper and a printing mechanism for printing on the roll paper; a cover frame movably connected to the main frame and having an openable cover for the roll paper compartment; a movable blade frame disposed to the main frame for supporting first and second movable blades with the blade tips in opposition; a stationary blade frame disposed to the cover frame for supporting a stationary blade in a position substantially transverse to the paper transportation path during cutting; and a movable blade drive mechanism for linking and driving the first and second movable blades to cut the roll paper in a scissor action against the stationary blade and such that one movable blade leads and the other movable blade follows, with the movable blades disposed such that the paths of the tips overlap during cutting.

A carriage guide mechanism for a printer enables using plural rolling bearings to move a carriage along a guide shaft with no play or vibration. The carriage bearing units of the printer carriage guide mechanism have three rolling bearings each that hold the guide shaft from three directions. The outer ring of each rolling bearing makes line contact with the outer ring roller surfaces, which each face a different direction and are formed on the guide plate of the guide shaft, and contact therebetween is maintained by the urging force of a flat spring. Because chatter and vibration, particularly play and vibration around the center axis of the guide shaft, can be prevented when the carriage moves, a drop in print quality due to vibration of the printhead caused by carriage chatter or vibration can be reliably prevented.
