Provided is a variable displacement compressor that is directed to cost reduction and productivity enhancement of a second control valve that adjusts an opening degree of a discharge passage for discharging a refrigerant in a controlled pressure chamber to a suction chamber. The variable displacement compressor includes the second control valve () configured to decrease an opening degree of the discharge passage to a minimum value when a first end surface () of a valve body () accommodated in a valve chamber () comes into contact with a first end wall surface () of the valve chamber () to close a second port () and a third port (), and configured to increase the opening degree of the discharge passage to a maximum value when the first end surface () of the valve body () separates from the first end wall surface () of the valve chamber () to open the second port () and the third port (). The valve body () is supported movably in a direction perpendicular to the first end wall surface () without contact with a peripheral wall surface () of the valve chamber (), by a guide shaft portion () being slidably inserted into a receiving portion () formed at a radially center portion of the valve body ().

A variable displacement compressor capable of preventing delay in pressure release of a controlled pressure chamber, such as a crank chamber. A switching valve () disposed downstream of a control valve of a pressure supply passage includes a main valve body () and a sub valve body (). The main valve body () includes an internal passage () providing communication between a first valve hole () communicating with a pressure supply passage () between the control valve and the switching valve (), and a second valve hole () communicating with a pressure supply passage () between the switching valve () and the crank chamber. A variable displacement compressor which prevents leakage of a refrigerant flowing directly into a suction chamber without passing via a crank chamber at a time of a minimum discharge displacement operation, thus making it possible to prevent an increase of a minimum discharge displacement by increasing a refrigerant pressure in the crank chamber, and in addition, making it possible to prevent insufficient lubrication of sliding portions and the like in the crank chamber.

A displacement control system (A) of a variable displacement compressor sets a target for pressure in an intake chamber or a crank chamber, on the basis of a detected evaporator-outlet air temperature and a target for evaporator-outlet air temperature. Reciprocation compressor

A reciprocating compressor having an aperture control valve for an inlet passage. Sectional area of the inlet passage is maintained near the outlet holes of the aperture control valve, distribution of flow rates of refrigerant gas drawn into the cylinder bores during inlet stroke is even. A cylinder block is provided with cylinder bores, a valve plate opposing one end of the cylinder block having inlet and outlet hole pairs, and a cylinder head forming an annular outlet chamber and a cylindrical inlet chamber radially inside the outlet chamber. The cylinder head has an inlet passage and an outlet passage, and an aperture control valve with an inlet hole connecting with the inlet passage and outlet holes controlling the aperture of the inlet passage. Reciprocating compressor

A compressor includes a compressing mechanism, a discharge chamber, a housing accommodating the compressing mechanism and the discharge chamber, a discharge port communicating with the discharge chamber through a discharge passage and also with an external refrigerant circuit, a muffler formed by an expanded space disposed on the discharge passage, and a check valve disposed on the discharge passage. The pressure loss caused by the discharge passage is less than that in the known compressor. The check valve is disposed in the muffler to open and close an inlet of the muffler, and the muffler is formed by the housing and a cover independent of and connected to the housing.

A displacement control system (B) for a variable displacement compressor has an electromagnetic clutch (), a displacement control valve () including a valve body () that is applied with pressure of a suction pressure region of a variable displacement compressor () and an electromagnetic force of a solenoid unit in an opposite direction to the pressure of a discharge pressure region, and biasing means that biases the valve body () in the same direction as the electromagnetic force, and means () for adjusting current, which adjusts current supplied to a displacement control valve coil () according to external information detected by external-information detecting means ().
