When the protruding length of a cutting bladeprotruding below a lower surface of a baseof a portable machining deviceis set to its maximum length, at least a part of a controllerfor controlling an electric motoris configured to be located behind a handlein the front-to-rear direction. Furthermore, the controlleris disposed so as to be tilted in the left-to-right direction or in the up-to-down direction with respect to the cutting blade. Because of this configuration, the height of the handlecan be restricted and at the same time the controllercan be disposed in a compact manner.

Portable machining device

A communication adapterfor conducting radio communication between a portable machining deviceand a dust collector, such that the dust collectormay operate synchronously with the portable machining devicewith respect to a start/stop operation when performing a cutting task is detachably incorporated in a handleof the portable machining device. Because of this arrangement, a high level of dust-proof ability as well as ease of maneuverability in attaching and detaching the communication adaptercan be achieved.

A machining device may include an electric motor, a blade rotatably driven by the electric motor for machining a workpiece, and a blade cover configured to surround the blade. A resonance sound reduction device may be disposed at the blade cover and may reduce air vibration generated by the rotation of the blade.

Portable electric planer

A cutting tool that maintains a compact-sized main body without affecting the usability as well as the dust collecting operation is provided. In a dust cover mounted on a blade case, a dust collection route divided from a saw blade is formed, and an outlet is provided at the rear side of the blade case in the cutting direction. Moreover, the blade case includes a peripheral surface in which an inlet and an auxiliary inlet are provided for guiding air generated by the rotation of the saw blade into the dust collection route from the front side in the cutting direction. Further, a guiding route where a part of cooling air for the motor is introduced into the dust collection route by means of a duct is provided, whereby the cooling air as well as air guided from the inlet is introduced into the dust collection route.
