A wireless tag reading apparatus includes an antenna, a driving mechanism configured to move the antenna to multiple positions, and a controller configured to: upon receipt of a radio wave from a wireless tag via the antenna at each of the multiple positions, obtain tag information stored in the wireless tag and radio wave information related to the radio wave, determine whether the wireless tag is a reading target based on positional information indicating a position of the wireless tag that is output from a model in response to an input of the radio wave information, and issue a notification when a reliability level of the positional information output from the model is less than a predetermined threshold value.

In one embodiment, a wireless tag reading device includes a plurality of antennas for wireless tag communication, a number-of-times acquisition unit, a strength acquisition unit, and a direction specifying unit. Each antenna is arranged along a passage through which a wireless tag passes. The number-of-times acquisition unit acquires a number of times of reading of data of the wireless tag read by each of the antennas for each unit time for each of the antennas. The strength acquisition unit acquires a received signal strength indicator when the data of the wireless tag is read by each of the antennas for each unit time for each of the antennas. The direction specifying unit specifies a moving direction of the wireless tag passing through the passage based on the number of times of reading and the received signal strength indicator for each of the antennas that are acquired for each unit time.

A wireless tag reading apparatus for reading tag information stored in a wireless tag attached to an item, includes a stage on which the item can be placed, one or more antennas movable between first and second positions, a camera facing the stage, and a controller configured to control the camera to capture images and detect an object therein, control the antennas to transmit radio waves to a wireless tag and move the antennas, wherein the transmitting and the moving are repeated while the antennas move from the first position to the second position during a tag reading period, acquire tag information from response waves transmitted by the wireless tag in response to the radio waves, based on the captured images, determine whether the object has moved during the tag reading period, and upon determining that the object has moved during the tag reading period, issue a notification.

According to one embodiment, there is provided a monitoring device for a terminal including a connection unit to which at least one device is able to be connected and mounted with a container file storing application software for controlling a business to be performed by using the device connected to the connection unit. The monitoring device includes a detection unit, an acquisition unit, and a processing unit. The detection unit detects an abnormality in the terminal. The acquisition unit acquires the container file mounted on the terminal in which the abnormality is detected. The processing unit installs the acquired container file on an alternative terminal.

A wireless tag communication device includes an antenna configured to transmit a carrier wave and receive a response wave output from a wireless tag with respect to the carrier wave and to specify a position of the wireless tag to be searched based on a radio wave intensity of the response wave received by the antenna. The device includes: a radio wave controller configured to switch the carrier wave between a first and second carrier wave to be transmitted in a first and second polarization direction respectively; and a comparator configured to compare a first and second radio wave intensity of a first and second response wave respectively output from the wireless tag with respect to the first and second carrier waves respectively, and the radio wave controller switches the carrier wave between the first carrier wave and the second carrier wave based on a comparison result of the comparator.

According to one embodiment, a wireless tag reading apparatus includes a first communication interface configured to communicate with a first external device, a second communication interface configured to communicate with a second external device, an antenna configured to emit a radio wave to read a wireless tag, and a controller. The controller is configured to identify either (a) the first communication interface as being in communication with the first external device or (b) the second communication interface as being in communication with the second external device. The controller is configured to change a power level of the radio wave emitted by the antenna based on which of the first communication interface or the second communication interface is identified. The controller is configured to read the wireless tag by controlling the antenna to emit the radio wave with the changed power level.

Wireless tag reading apparatus and method

According to one embodiment, a commodity registration device includes an optical reading unit with a reading range. The optical reading unit is configured to acquire an image of a commodity in the reading range. A wireless tag reading unit is configured to read a commodity code from a wireless tag of the commodity in the reading range. A processor determines whether the commodity is in the reading range of the optical reading unit and causes a notification unit to indicate the commodity has been registered if the wireless tag reading unit successfully reads the commodity code from the wireless tag while the commodity is determined to be in the reading range of the optical reading unit.

According to one embodiment, a radio tag reading device includes: a body portion including a radio tag reading unit that reads a radio tag; a grip portion detachably connected to the body portion; a magnet provided in the grip portion; a magnet detection unit provided in the body portion and configured to detect magnetism generated by the magnet; a state detection unit configured to detect a state of the grip portion based on the magnetism detected by the magnet detection unit; and a reading control unit configured to control the radio tag reading unit.
