A piercing die, a holding body, and a piercing punch are used to form a pressed component having a plate-shaped base portion and a tubular boss portion extending from the base portion. The piercing die has a receiving portion, an outer shape-forming portion, and a die-side cutting edge. The piercing punch has an inner shape-forming portion, a punch-side cutting edge, and a straight portion. In a process of forming a pressed component, the piercing punch is pressed against a preform which is formed from a blank and which has a preliminary boss portion so as to cause part of the preliminary boss portion to flow toward the outer shape-forming portion, and so as to then cut off another part of the preliminary boss portion to form a boss portion.

Method for forming a pressed component, method for manufacturing a pressed component, and die apparatus for forming a pressed component

A pressed component is formed by pressing a preform having a tapered tubular portion and a sloping portion provided at an end of the tubular portion and curved in a circular arc. Pressing is performed by a forming die apparatus including a holding body, a piercing punch, and a piercing die. When the tubular portion of the preform is held by an outer fixing and supporting portion of the holding body and an inner fixing and supporting portion of the piercing die, the forming die apparatus cuts off a portion of the sloping portion using an outer cutting edge of the piercing punch and an inner cutting edge of the piercing die and then causes a pressing portion of the piercing punch to bend and press the remaining portion of the sloping portion within a forming space to form a corner portion.

Method for forming a pressed component

A die apparatus for forming a press-formed component includes a piercing die, a piercing punch, and a support. The piercing die includes a tubular first forming portion for forming a boss portion and a second forming portion having a cutting edge and an inwardly extending portion. The second forming portion is adapted to perform pressing of a preform while cutting a portion thereof. A cutting edge which cooperates with the cutting edge of the second forming portion is formed at a distal end of the piercing punch. When forming a press-formed component, a projection end portion of a preform formed from a blank by drawing is cut and removed by the two cutting edges, and a preform boss portion is then pressed and swaged by the inwardly extending portion.

The air intake structure for a saddle-ride type vehicle includes a front cowl, a pair of right and left air duct portions, an air cleaner box, and a vehicle body frame. The front cowl includes a pair of right and left air intake ports. The pair of the right and left air duct portions guides air taken from the pair of the right and left air intake ports. The air cleaner box cleans the air guided by the pair of the right and left air duct portions. The vehicle body frame is branched backward from a steering head pipe disposed on a front side of a vehicle into a bifurcated shape with a pair of right and left. The vehicle body frame includes the air cleaner box between the branches of the bifurcated shape. The air duct portion includes a first air duct and a second air duct. The first air duct guides air to the air cleaner box from the air intake port through the vehicle body frame. The second air duct branches from the first air duct in a middle to guide air to the air cleaner box.

Air intake structure for saddle-ride type vehicle

A cowl which covers a front component of a saddle-ridden type vehicle, includes: a cowl body; and passage forming portions each of which extends from a front, central, in a left-right direction, position of the cowl body or a vicinity of the front, central position to a side position of the cowl body; each of the passage forming portions forms an air passage that extends from the front, central position of the cowl body or a vicinity of the front, central position to the side position of the cowl body; the passage forming portions or each of the passage forming portions has an inlet as defined herein; each of the passage forming portions has an outlet as defined herein; and the air passages cause a riding wind occurring during running of the saddle-ridden type vehicle to flow through the air passages.

A vehicle body cover formed by a front cowling covering, from a front direction, a front-head part of a vehicle body, meter panels, and a front panel, which are mutually coupled, covers the front part of the vehicle body. A windscreen capable of being vertically moved by a varying mechanism is disposed at a position above the front cowling. A traveling air taken in at a front part of the vehicle body cover via an air introduction part is exhausted from air-exhaust parts at proper places on the meter panel or the front panel, and an overlap area between the windscreen and the air introduction part in front elevational view of the vehicle changes in accordance with an aspect of the windscreen.
