An image scanning device of the present invention includes a platen, an image scanning part that scans an image on the manuscript, a light source that irradiates light from the back side of the platen, a platen cover that is allowed to be positioned in a closed state or in an opened state, a light receiving part that is configured to receive light from the manuscript scanning area on the back side of the platen, a range obtaining part that is configured to obtain range between the amount of received light of the light receiving part in the opened state of the platen cover and the amount of received light of the light receiving part in the closed state of the platen cover, and a manuscript detecting part that is configured to detect existence of the manuscript in a manuscript scanning area of the platen based on the range.

Disclosed is an anti-chipping film capable of preventing chips which would otherwise occur during an operation for inserting an engagement protrusion of a resin member into a mounting hole of a metal sheet, from being generated and scattered into an inner space of a frame. The anti-chipping film is adapted to be attachable to a given metal sheet to cover a (rectangular-shaped or circular shaped) mounting hole which is formed in the metal sheet to mount a given resin member. The anti-chipping film comprises a slit (linear-shaped slit, radial-shaped slit or H-shaped slit) formed in a central region thereof to allow an engagement protrusion protrudingly formed on the resin member to penetrate therethrough, and an adhesive layer laminated on an outer peripheral region thereof.

An image forming apparatus is provided with a main body, an image forming assembly accommodated in the main body, a withdrawable unit accommodated in the main body in such a manner as to be withdrawable to the outside, a fixing unit for fixing a toner image to a recording sheet with heat from the heating member by conveying the recording sheet having the toner image transferred thereto while nipping it between a heating member and the pressure member, and a temperature raising device for raising the temperature of the heating member. The fixing unit is detachably mounted on the withdrawable unit. On the other hand, the temperature raising device includes a mounting portion different from that of the heating member, and is fixedly attached to the withdrawable unit and is kept attached to the withdrawable unit even if the fixing unit is separated from the withdrawable unit.

Image forming apparatus

A cover-body locking construction includes a specified housing, a frame insertable into and withdrawable from the housing, a structure supported on the frame, and a cover body shiftable between a covering position to cover at least part of the structure and an exposing position to expose the at least part of the structure to the outside by canceling the covered state with the structure withdrawn from the housing. The cover body includes a locking member having a locking portion for locking the cover body set at the covering position into the frame and an operating portion for causing the locking portion to lock and unlock. The housing includes a lock guiding member shaped to interlock the locking portion with the frame due to the interference with the cover body and the operating portion upon inserting the frame into the housing with the structure covered by the cover body.

A sheet feeding device includes a sheet accommodation portion that accommodates piled sheets, and a guide formed by bending a plate-shaped member and having an abutting surface that abuts on the piled sheets so as to restrict a position of the piled sheets. An inclined surface is formed in a top end portion of the abutting surface. Preferably, one or more than one protruding strip is provided to the guide on a surface on a side where the abutting surface is formed along a direction in which the sheets are inserted into the sheet accommodation portion.
