A dental block includes a block body having a one surface, and an engagement portion to be engaged with a dental implant fixture. The engagement portion has a bolt through hole and is formed in the one surface of the block body. The dental block further includes a ring-shaped abutment surface to be abutted against a top surface on the oral cavity inner side of the dental implant fixture. The ring-shaped abutment surface is positioned more inside the block body than the one surface and is formed from an end portion positioned at the most oral cavity inner side of the engagement portion to surround the end portion, and to be parallel to the one surface of the block body. The dental block further includes a diameter-enlarged portion having a tapered shape whose diameter increases from the ring-shaped abutment surface toward the one surface of the block body.

Dental block

A dental implant has a dental implant fixture with a fitting hole at the oral cavity-side end, and an abutment with a fitting portion at one end which is to be fitted, not to be rotatable, in the fitting hole in the dental implant fixture. The dental implant fixture has at a side of the fitting hole opposite to the oral cavity an internal thread with which external threads formed on a cover screw and healing abutment are to be put into engagement. The abutment has a truncated-conical gum piercing portion with a cross section which is larger in area as it goes away from the fitting portion, and a columnar portion which is not circular in cross section and to which a dental prosthesis fixing device is to be attached. The fitting portion has an internal thread smaller in inside diameter than that in the dental implant fixture.

A measured object mounting tool for producing three-dimensional shape data includes a placing part at a lower face of a cylindrical part, an inclined part at a boundary between a side face and an upper face of the cylindrical part, and a pillar part at the upper face of the cylindrical part. The pillar part has a mounting part at the upper face thereof. A three-dimensional coordinate other than the engaging portion of a model is produced by engaging the model of the dental prosthesis with the mounting part of the tool on a placing table, detecting a position where a received light amount is remarkably decreased with a laser sensor to detect a lower end of the inclined part, and thereby calculating an upper end of the engaging portion.

Production method of three-dimensional shape data of dental prosthesis

A measuring center stores three-dimensional coordinate information of an intra-oral shape measured by impression taking as a digital signal. The measuring center sends the obtained measured data to a design center using communication apparatus. The design center reproduces the intra-oral shape on a graphic display device based on the received measuring data as a three-dimensional graphic, designs a shape of a dental prosthesis and stores it as a digital signal. The processing center transmits the received design data to a milling processor as a processing command and subjects a block material to milling processing to prepare a dental prosthesis.

Process for preparing dental prosthesis

To prepare a dental prosthesis that has a shape exactly the same as in the form at the time of sound state, with superior intra-oral fitness precision, a process for preparing a dental prosthesis utilizing a CAD/CAM system includes subjecting three-dimensional coordinate information of an intra-oral shape measured by impression taking or by photographing within an oral cavity of a patient, to three-dimensional graphic display on a graphic display device and designing a dental prosthesis on the three-dimensional graphic, wherein three-dimensional coordinate information of a previously preserved intra-oral shape of a patient at the time of sound state is subjected to graphic display simultaneously on the graphic display device; the dental prosthesis of an objective tooth is designed so as to have a shape same as the shape at the time of sound state; the obtained design data of the dental prosthesis is transmitted to a milling processor as a processing command; and a block material is subjected to milling processing to prepare a dental prosthesis.
