A coil component includes a core that has a columnar winding core portion and a flange formed at an end of the winding core portion in an axial direction. The coil component also includes a terminal electrode formed at an end surface of the flange and a wire being wound around the winding core portion with one end portion coupled to the terminal electrode. The flange protrudes toward the first end of the coil component in the first direction. A curved surface and an inclined surface are formed at a boundary between a surface of the flange and a peripheral surface of the winding core portion. The inclined surface has a curvature smaller than that of the curved surface. In addition, the inclined surface is disposed where the wire intersects the boundary as viewed in the first direction.

Coil component

A coil component includes a core including a winding core portion and a pair of flange portions provided at both ends of the winding core portion, electrode portions provided in the flange portions, a wire wound around the winding core portion, and a magnetic plate fixed to the flange portions. The magnetic plate includes an annular first planar portion, a second planar portion that is located inside the inner circumference of the first planar portion and has a step between the first and the second planar portions, and a connection surface portion connecting the inner circumference of the first planar portion to the outer circumference of the second planar portion. The connection surface portion is configured by annularly disposing at least three slopes inclined with respect to the direction orthogonal to the first planar portion and has chamfered portions each being disposed between adjacent slopes.

A coil component includes a drum core including a winding core portion and first and second flange portions, and first and second wires. A portion of the first wire that first comes into contact with an outer peripheral surface of the winding core portion when the first wire is traced from a first wire end to a second wire end is defined as a 1.0 turn portion of the first wire. A portion of the second wire where an angular position thereof about a central axis first coincides with an angular position of the 1.0 turn portion of the first wire, on a side of a second negative direction with respect to the central axis, when the second wire is traced from a first wire end to a second wire end is defined as a 1.0 turn portion of the second wire.

A coil component includes a drum-shaped core including a core portion that extends in a length direction of the coil component and a first flange portion provided on a first end portion of the core portion, and first and second terminal electrodes provided on the first flange portion. The first and second terminal electrodes each include a base electrode formed on a surface of the first flange portion and a plating layer that covers the base electrode. The base electrode includes a bottom-surface base electrode portion on a bottom surface, an end-surface base electrode portion on an end surface, and a side-surface base electrode portion on a first side surface. The end-surface base electrode portion has a height greater than that of the first crotch portion. The side-surface base electrode portion has a height less than that of the first crotch portion.

Coil component and method for manufacturing coil component

A coil component includes a drum core that includes a winding core portion and a pair of flange portions formed at the ends of the winding core portion, electrodes that are included in the pair of flange portions, and first and second wires that are wound around the winding core portion and that include extended portions electrically connected to the electrodes. The flange portions are continuous with the winding core portion and have slopes that guide the extended portions to the electrodes.

Common-mode choke coil

A coil component includes a drum core including a winding core portion extending in a first direction and a pair of flange portions provided at both ends of the winding core portion. At least one flange of the pair of flange portions has at least one step or gradient portion. A terminal electrode is provided on the step or gradient portion, and a wire is wound around the winding core portion with an end bonded to the terminal electrode. The terminal electrode includes plural metal layers, an outermost layer of which is an Sn film having a flattened mounting surface. The flattened mounting surface overlaps the step or gradient portion when seen in a second direction perpendicular to the first direction.

Coil component and method of manufacturing coil component

A drum-like core of a coil component includes a winding core portion, a flange portion, and a terminal electrode formed on a mounting surface of the flange portion. The mounting surface of the flange portion includes a flat region and a lower region. The terminal electrode has a flat surface, the flat surface being parallel with the length direction in an outer surface of the terminal electrode, covering the mounting surface of the flange portion, and being longer than the flat region in maximum measurement extending in parallel with the length direction.

Coil component and drum-like core

A flange portion includes a projecting surface that is positioned in a leading end of a projection projecting toward a mounting substrate and that faces the mounting substrate, and a principal surface that extends in a direction crossing the projecting surface and that faces a direction in which the pair of flange portions are aligned. A metal terminal includes a mounting portion opposed to the projecting surface and an end surface portion opposed to the principal surface. An angle &#x3b8; between the mounting portion and the end surface portion satisfies the relationship 85 degrees&#x2264;&#x3b8;&#x3c;90 degrees. A bent shape that projects when viewed in an axis direction of a winding core part is given to each top surface of a first flange part and a second flange part of a drum-like core. The top surface and a lower principal surface of a plate-like core are closest to each other in a portion where a vertex of the bent shape is positioned.

A coil component has a winding core part, and a plurality of wires that are wound on the winding core part to form a plurality of layers. The wires each include a conductor and a covering film that covers the conductor, an outer diameter of the wire of an n-th layer ('n' is an integer that is two or greater) is smaller than an outer diameter of the wire of an (n&#x2212;1)th layer, an outer diameter of the conductor of the wire of the n-th layer is equal to an outer diameter of the conductor of the wire of the (n&#x2212;1)th layer, and a thickness of the covering film of the wire of the n-th layer is smaller than a thickness of the covering film of the wire of the (n&#x2212;1)th layer.

A coil component has a core having a winding core portion and a flange portion disposed on each of both ends of the winding core portion, the flange portion including a foot portion; a wire wound around the winding core portion; an electrode portion disposed on a bottom surface of the foot portion of the flange portion and connected to the wire; a metal terminal to be connected via a mounting solder to a mounting substrate; and a joining member connecting the metal terminal to the electrode portion. The joining member has a heat resistance property retaining a connection state between the electrode portion and the metal terminal at least at the melting point of the mounting solder.

An electronic component includes a core, a winding, and an electrode. A flange of the core includes a body having a first surface that faces a top side and is located on the top side of a winding core of the core and first and second electrode formation portions protruding toward the top side of the first surface. The electrode is provided on a second surface of the first electrode formation portion and is connected to the winding. Space surrounded by the first and second electrode formation portions and the first surface is formed. A predetermined section between a point where the winding is separated from the winding core and a point where the winding comes into contact with the electrode extends toward the upper right side as viewed from the front, and does not include a portion of the winding an entire line width of which overlaps the space.
