An object recognition unit recognizes, from real-space video data, a body included in the video data. A function setting unit retains function information in which is prescribed a function configured from a pair of operation and processing that can be set for each type of body. In addition, the function setting unit sets, to each body recognized by the object recognition unit, a function that can be set, based on the type of each body. A selection determination unit determines a selected body selected by a user as the body to be operated among the respective bodies recognized by the object recognition unit. An operation determination unit determines the operation that the user has performed on the selected body. A processing determination unit 1107 determines the processing for the operation that has been determined by the operation determination unit among the operations configuring the function set by the function setting unit.

In the case where plural applications are executed at the same time, if each application instructs for different trick play to the same content, a difference is caused between an ideal reproduction state expected by each application and an actual reproduction state. The present invention makes it possible to keep the reproduction state unchanged as long as normal reproduction or trick play is not accepted, by including a moving picture trick play reproduction management unit which determines, in response to an instruction for one of normal reproduction and trick play, whether or not to accept, according to a rule, the instruction, and retains details specified by the instruction in the case of accepting the instruction, and a moving picture reproduction processing unit which reproduces a moving picture based on the details retained by the moving picture trick play management unit.

Although a scheduled recording that is set by an EPG (Electronic Program Guide) specifies in advance a time slot for using the resource, reproduction that is set by the EPG does not specify a time slot for using the resource. Therefore, although it is possible to carry out resource allocations for a plurality of scheduled recordings in advance, it is not possible to carry out a resource adjustment in advance when the scheduled recording and the reproduction operation use the same resource. However, when an adjustment process is performed after the starting time of the scheduled recording, the adjustment process itself takes up some time, thus giving rise to the possibility that the scheduled recording may not start at the specified starting time. The resource adjustment for the scheduled recording and the reproduction is initiated ahead of the starting time of the scheduled recording. The amount of time ahead of the scheduled recording, by which the resource adjustment is to be started, can be specified by the EPG.

An information processor capable of easily dealing with addition or alteration of a format engine is provided. The information processor includes format engine management means and operation control means. The format engine managing means pre-defines common states which define operating states of each format engine in a representation common to all the format engines, and manages an operation of each format engine. The operation control means is provided in correspondence with each format engine, and pre-defines a correspondence between the common states and individual states which define the operating states of each format engine in a representation different for each format engine, and controls operations of the format engines such that each format engine is in an arbitrary individual state.

A broadcast recording apparatus according to the present invention includes: a JMF which records video/audio data into a recording area; a storage administration library which, in the case where an extracted Java program and AIT differ from an already-recorded Java program and AIT, attaches a timestamp to the extracted Java program and AIT and records the Java program and AIT in the recording area, as well as creating storage administration information which indicates a storage place of the Java program within the recording area; and a service manager and a Java VM which read out and execute the Java program from the storage place indicated by the storage administration information.
