A solid electrolytic capacitor includes a capacitor element. The capacitor element includes an anode foil, a dielectric layer, a solid electrolyte layer, and a cathode lead-out layer. The anode foil includes a first part and a second part other than the first part. The first part has an etched surface, and a second part has an unetched surface. The dielectric layer is formed on the etched surface of the first part in the anode foil. The solid electrolyte layer is formed on at least a part of a surface of the dielectric layer. The cathode lead-out layer is formed on at least a part of a surface of the solid electrolyte layer. An insulating protective layer covers a boundary part between the first part and the second part as well as an end of the cathode lead-out layer and an end of the solid electrolyte layer.

Solid electrolytic capacitor and method for manufacturing same

Disclosed is a method for manufacturing a solid electrolytic capacitor in which a capacitor element has conductive polymer solid electrolyte on a dielectric oxide film layer. The method includes the following processes: forming a manganese oxide layer on the dielectric oxide film layer; and chemically polymerizing a reaction solution containing a monomer, aromatic sulfonic acid, and a solvent using the manganese oxide layer as an oxidizing agent. Here, polyhydric alcohol capable of being coordinated to manganese ions released from the manganese oxide layer is made to coexist with the chemical polymerization reaction.

Method for manufacturing solid electrolytic capacitor

(a) supplying a capacitor element manufacturing apparatus, in which the capacitor element manufacturing apparatus includes a polymerization tank, a polymerization solution contained in the polymerization tank, and a negative electrode put in the polymerization solution in the polymerization tank, (b) supplying a core material having a plurality of capacitor elements, in which each capacitor element of the plurality of capacitor elements has an anode lead-out portion and a cathode lead-out portion, (c) forming a formation film on the surface of the core material, (d) installing a conductive substance on the formation film, (e) adhering each anode lead-out portion of the plurality of capacitor elements having the conductive substance to a conductive tape, (f) immersing the core material having the anode lead-out portion adhered to the adhesive tape in the polymerization solution, and (g) forming a polymerization film on the cathode lead-out portion of the capacitor element by applying a voltage to the conductive tape are included. By applying a voltage to this conductive tape, the polymerization reaction starts from the surface of the conductive tape, and this polymerization spreads to the cathode lead-out portion of each capacitor of the plurality of capacitors. Polymerization films are formed simultaneously on the cathode lead-out portions of the capacitor elements. As a result, the productivity is notably enhanced.

Method and apparatus for manufacturing solid electrolytic capacitor

A simple method of mass producing a plurality of solid electrolytic capacitor elopements can be performed to produce capacitors with reduced leakage current and excellent reliability. The method includes supplying a band metal, a first portion of which contains protrusions on which a dielectric layer, then a conductor layer are formed. A conductive polymer film is formed on the conductor layer by electrolytic polymerization starting from a conductive tape adhered on a second portion of the band metal. The conductive tape acts as a common positive electrode for polymerization and a plurality of electrodes connected independently to the protrusions as negative electrodes. Finally a plurality of capacitor elements are formed by laminating individual protrusions cut off from the band metal.

Method of mass producing solid electrolytic capacitors and apparatus for making the same

A method of manufacturing solid electrolytic capacitors by forming an anodized film on a surface of a valve metal anode; forming a capacitor element by adhering an insulating resist tape on said anodized film for separating a negative electrode part and a positive electrode part; forming a MnO layer by immersing the capacitor element in a solution containing manganese salts, removing the capacitor element from the solution, and thermally decomposing attached manganese salts; immersing the capacitor element on which the MnO layer is formed in an organic polar solvent or aqueous solution thereof; re-anodizing the capacitor element by immersing the capacitor element in an electrolytic solution before the organic polar solvent or its solution dries; and forming a solid electrolyte layer and cathode conductor layer on the base layer. This method provides solid electrolytic capacitors which demonstrate less change in leak current at high temperature and high humidity, and good impedance characteristics at high frequencies.

Method of manufacturing solid electrolytic capacitors

A method of manufacturing solid electrolytic capacitors which prevents decrease in product yield due to degradation in characteristics of anode foil during a process of forming a MnO,layer, and achieves high quality solid electrolytic capacitors with high yield, wherein aluminum foil is sampled from each lot before inputting the lot into the next process of forming MnO,layer on a surface of aluminum foil, and a predetermined inspection is implemented after forming the MnO,layer on this sample. Based on inspection results, the lot of the sample is input to the next process. This method prevents occurrence of defects in the MnO,layer formation process in advance, and avoids finding defects after inputting the entire lot of aluminum foil to the MnO,layer formation process. Consequently, highly reliable solid electrolytic capacitors are manufactured inexpensively and stably without loss in costs and efficiency.
