An ink jet recording method capable of providing an image having a good quality is disclosed. In the ink jet recording method, a reaction solution and an ink composition are used to conduct printing on a recording medium. The reaction solution comprises a polyvalent metal salt, and an ink composition comprises a pigment and a resin emulsion.

A reaction solution for use in ink jet recording, wherein a reaction solution and an ink composition are deposited onto a recording medium to perform printing, is provided, This reaction solution possesses -improved storage stability, can improve printing stability, and, in addition, can offer a printed image having improved quality. It comprised at least a polyvalent metallic salt and a component selected from the group consisting of a five- or six-membered saturated or unsaturated, heterocyclic compound containing at least one nitrogen atom, an optionally alkyl-substituted amide derivative, a sulfur-containing compound, an amine, and a cationic surfactant.

Reaction solution for ink jet recording method using two liquids

An ink composition is provided which, when used for ink jet recording, does not clog a recording head and provides a high-quality print and, at the same time, has high storage stability. The ink composition comprises a pigment, a dispersant, and water, the dispersant being a polymeric dispersant having a carboxyl group, the ink composition further comprising a hydroxide of an alkali metal and an alcoholamine having at least one hydroxyl group.

Ink composition suitable for ink jet recording

An ink for ink jet printing comprising a pigment, a component selected from the group consisting of saccharides, derivatives thereof and polyols having 5 or more hydroxyl groups, and a resin emulsion. This pigment-type ink is excellent in preservability, does not cause obstruction in a nozzle, and can evenly produce an image.
