It is an object to provide a surface-treated steel sheet which contains no Cr, which is excellent in wet resin adhesion, and which can be used as an alternative to a conventional tin-free steel sheet and to provide a resin-coated steel sheet produced by coating the surface-treated steel sheet with resin. A surface-treated steel sheet including an adhesive layer which is disposed on at least one surface of the steel sheet and which contains Ti and at least one selected from the group consisting of Co, Fe, Ni, V, Cu, Mn, and Zn, the ratio of the total amount of Co, Fe, Ni, V, Cu, Mn, and Zn to the amount of Ti contained therein being 0.01 to ten on a mass basis, and a method for producing the surface-treated steel sheet.

Surface-treated steel sheet and resin-coated steel sheet

A steel sheet undergone precipitation strengthening and refinement in crystal grain size by containing at least one element of 0.005% to 0.05% of Nb, 0.005% to 0.05% of Ti, and 0.0005% to 0.005% of B as a chemical composition is produced through continuous annealing. A steel containing at least one element of Nb, Ti, and B is hot rolled, cooled at a cooling rate of 40&#xb0; C./s or less, and coiled at 550&#xb0; C. or higher to facilitate precipitation of cementite after recrystallization annealing. As a result, a steel sheet for a can having a tensile strength of 450 to 550 MPa, a total elongation of 20% or more, and a yield elongation of 5% or less is produced.

A can body for a two-piece can made of a laminated steel sheet, the laminated steel sheet containing a steel sheet and a copolyethylene terephthalate resin layer containing at least hyone member selected from the group consisting of isophthalic acid and cyclohexane dimethanol as a copolymer component in a proportion of 5 to 20 mol %, and having a crystallization temperature of 120&#xb0; C. to 140&#xb0; C. on at least one side of the steel sheet; and satisfying the following relationships: r&#x2266;r, 0.1&#x2266;r/R&#x2266;0.25, and 1.5&#x2266;h/(R&#x2212;r)&#x2266;4, wherein rrepresents the minimum radius of the can body, r represents the maximum radius of the can body, h represents the height of the can body, and R represents the radius of the laminated steel sheet having a circular shape before shaping whose weight is the same as that of the can body. The can body has a high strain level, and does not suffer from delamination and breakage of the resin layer.

Can body for laminated steel sheet two-piece can and method for manufacturing can body

In a method for producing a two-piece can, a circular disk of a laminated steel sheet having a thermoplastic resin coating layer is subjected to multistage forming to produce a final formed body having a height h, a maximum radius r, and a minimum radius d (the case where r is equal to d is also included). Forming is performed so that the height h, maximum radius r, and minimum radius d of the final formed body satisfy the relationships 0.1&#x2266;d/R&#x2266;0.25 and 1.5&#x2266;h/(R&#x2212;r)&#x2266;4 with respect to a radius R of a circular disk before forming whose weight is equal to that the final formed body. At an intermediate stage of forming, a formed body is subjected to heat treatment at a temperature of not less than a melting point of a thermoplastic resin but not more than a temperature 30&#xb0; C. higher than the melting point.

Method for producing two-piece can and two-piece laminated can

We manufacture a two-piece can by the method using a laminated steel sheet as the base material, having the steps of: drawing a cylindrical blank for several times to form a can body in a shape of cylinder integrated with bottom; forming a tapered part extending outward from the can body in the radial direction thereof at the tip of the opening of the can body; applying diametral reduction to the tapered part to the diameter of the can body; and applying diametral reduction to the opening side of the can body to a diameter smaller than the diameter of the can body, while satisfying the formulae (1) and (2),1.5&#x2266;/()&#x2003;&#x2003;(1)&#x2266;0.25&#x2003;&#x2003;(2)where h is the height from the can bottom to the tip of the opening, R is the circular blank positional radius, r is the radius of the can bottom, and d is the radius of the tip of the opening.
