A first housing includes a wide connection surface and a bearing formed on an edge on one side along the longitudinal direction of the connection surface. A second housing includes a side surface formed to face in a direction intersecting a connecting direction of the first and second housings. A lid is displaceable about a shaft supported by the bearing portion to a closed position where the lid covers the connection surface and an open position where the lid member contacts the side surface. The lid is biased from the open position to the closed position by a biasing member. An outer shape of the lid has a long side arranged along the longitudinal direction of the connection surface and a short side intersecting the long side and shorter than the long side.

Connector

A female connector (F) includes a housing () to fit into a receptacle () of a male connector (M) and a front retainer () to be mounted to a front part of the housing (). The housing () includes a terminal accommodating portion () that accommodates female terminal fittings (). Plate-shaped butting portions () extend forward from an outer periphery of the terminal accommodating portion () and butt against a back surface of the receptacle () when the housing () is fit into the receptacle (). The front retainer () includes a cover () configured to cover a front end of the terminal accommodating portion () by being disposed along inner side surfaces of the butting portions () and intrusion preventing portions () projecting from the cover () to close both sides of clearances between the cover () and the butting portions () in a front view.

A connector assembly includes a female housing () and a male housing () connectable to each other. A lever () is supported rotatably on shafts () of the male housing (). The male housing () includes walls () outside side surfaces. The lever () includes two plates () projecting from a lever operating portion () while facing each other and wall engaging portions () provided on the respective plates (). The wall engaging portions () are configured to enter entrance spaces () inward of the walls () with the plates () facing the side surfaces of the male housing () and the shafts () being fit into bearings () of the lever () and contacting the walls () from outside by the plates () respectively erroneously facing the side surfaces of the male housing () not corresponding thereto.

Connector and connector assembly

A lever () swings from a fitting start position to a fitting completion position on a housing () and has a cam groove (). In the swinging process, a cam follower () of a counterpart housing () and cam () of a moving plate () advance a fitting operation between the housings () and () to move the moving plate () from a moving start position to a moving completion position. A detachment regulating portion () locks the cam () at the fitting start position to regulate detachment of the moving plate () from the hood (). The lever () is swung from the fitting start position in an opposite direction of the fitting completion position, and has a detachment allowing position separating the cam () from the detachment regulating portion () to allow the moving plate () to detach from the hood ().

Lever-type connector

A female connector (F) includes a housing () to fit into a receptacle () of a male connector (M), and a front retainer () to mount to a front part of the housing (). The housing () includes a terminal accommodating portion () configured to accommodate female terminal fittings () and butting portions () in the form of flat plates extending forward from an outer periphery of the terminal accommodating portion () and configured to butt against a back surface of the receptaclewhen the housing () is fit into the receptacle (). The front retainer () includes a cover () configured to cover a front of the terminal accommodating portion () by being disposed along inner side surfaces of the butting portions (). A formation range of the butting portions () is smaller than that of the cover () in a length direction of the butting portions ().
