The method includes transmitting, by an access point (AP), a physical layer protocol data unit (PPDU) comprising a plurality of resource units (RUs), each comprising a number of one or more of subcarriers or tones upon which one or more modulated signals are positioned, each of the plurality of RUs sharing a common frequency and mirroring symmetrically or conjugate symmetrically, information between each of the plurality of RUs with respect to a DC tone.

A method by a wireless device to extend communication range when operating in a 6 Gigahertz (GHz) band of a wireless network is described. The method includes generating a physical layer protocol data unit (PPDU) that includes a preamble portion and a data portion that includes first data and transmitting the PPDU through a wireless medium on a transmission channel that is subdivided into a plurality of resource units (RUs), wherein the first data is duplicated in the data portion in a frequency domain in units of RUs.

Extending communication range of wireless devices operating in a 6 gigahertz band

A method is performed by a wireless device. The method comprises receiving a predetermined number N of Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) symbols of a PHY Protocol Data Unit (PPDU), determining, using the Nth received OFDM symbol, whether the PPDU is a PPDU according to a first wireless network standard or a PPDU according to a second wireless network standard, and decoding the PPDU according to the determined wireless network standard. The predetermined number N corresponds to either a location of a Legacy Signal (L-SIG) field in the PPDU or the location of a symbol of a second field of the second wireless network standard in the PPDU, the second field being different from the L-SIG field. The first and second wireless network standards may each be a Vehicle to Everything standard or an Intelligent Transportation System standard, and may be different from each other.

Communication format for a wireless network

A wireless devices communicates a transmission capability by determining a number of active transmits chains of the wireless device, determining a maximum number of space-time streams according to the number of active transmit chains, providing a frame with an indication of the maximum number of space-time streams, and transmitting the frame. The wireless devices may provide the indication of the maximum number of space-time streams in an Operating Mode field of High Efficiency Aggregate Control field of the frame. The maximum number of space-time streams may be a maximum number of space-time streams that may be used by the wireless device to respond to a Trigger frame.

Dynamic transmit chain availability signaling in wireless devices

An electronic device receives a physical layer (PHY) protocol data unit (PPDU) including a PHY preamble including a non-high-throughput (Non-HT) short training field (L-STF), a Non-HT long training field (L-LTF), a Non-HT signal (L-SIG) field, a repeated Non-HT signal (RL-SIG) field, and a universal signal (U-SIG) field. The electronic device checks a control field in the PPDU. The control field indicates whether the PHY preamble in the PPDU carries payload information and the PPDU carries no data field carrying payload information. The electronic device obtains the payload information from the PHY preamble and processes the payload information if the control field indicates that the PHY preamble in the PPDU includes the payload information and the PPDU carries no data field.

Low latency in wireless communication system

To receive data in data field of a PHY Protocol Data Unit (PPDU), wherein the data field includes mid-ambles, a number of mid-ambles and a number of data symbols included in the data field is determined. The number of mid-ambles is determined according to information in an HE-SIG-A field of the PPDU, information in an L-SIG field of the PPDU, and one or more predetermined values prescribed by a standard. The number of data symbols may be determined using the number of the mid-ambles, and the data received according to the number of mid-ambles and the number of data symbols.

A High Efficiency signal (HE-SIG) field of the transmitted HE PPDU frame may include an indication for a duration of the extension to avoid ambiguity of the extension. A communication device in a wireless system may receive an HE PPDU frame including (i) an OFDM symbol including padding bits, and (ii) an extension having a non-zero signal strength, and transmit an Acknowledgement frame a predetermined inter-frame space after an end of the HE PPDU frame. An HE-SIG field of the received HE PPDU may include an indication for duration of the extension to avoid ambiguity of the extension.

Support for additional decoding processing time in wireless LAN systems

A method performed by an apparatus in a wireless local area network (WLAN) is provided. The method comprises: transmitting a first physical layer convergence protocol (PLCP) protocol data unit (PPDU) for a first variant including a first control field and a second PPDU for a second variant including a second control field in A(aggregated)-PPDU, wherein the second PPDU for the second variant is transmitted in duplicate (DUP) mode; and receiving a first response to the first PPDU and a second response to the second PPDU in A-PPDU based on the first control field and the second control field, respectively, wherein the first variant is based on a first protocol standard and the second variant is based on a second protocol standard, and wherein the second protocol standard is beyond version of the first protocol standard.

Method and apparatus for configuring trigger frame for A-PPDU in a wireless communication system

A method for determining a number of symbols in a data field of a physical layer (PHY) protocol data unit (PPDU) is described. The method includes determining, by a wireless transmitting device, whether an aggregation subfield of a signal field of the PPDU is to be set to 1 and responsive to determining that the aggregation subfield of the signal field of the PPDU is not to be set to 1, calculating, by the wireless transmitting device, the number of symbols in the data field of the PPDU based on a PHY service data unit (PSDU) length value, wherein the PSDU length value is provided in a transmission vector (TXVECTOR) and the TXVECTOR also includes an aggregated media access control (MAC) protocol data unit pre-end-of-frame padding (APEP) length value of the PPDU.

Determining the number of symbols in a data field of a frame based on aggregation

An apparatus is provided. The apparatus performs operations including selecting a high efficiency long training field (HE LTF) sequence for a frame, selecting an HE LTF transmission mode from one of a 4× HE LTF mode, a 2× HE LTF mode, and a 1× HE LTF mode, transmitting only a set of allocated subcarriers of the HE LTF sequence for the frame, and transmitting a set of additional fields of the frame using the set of allocated subcarriers and a set of unallocated subcarriers. The set of additional fields includes a legacy short training field (L-STF), a legacy long training field (L-LTF), a legacy signaling field (L-SIG), a high efficiency signaling A field (HE-SIG-A), and a high efficiency short training field (HE-STF). Transmitting of the HE LTF sequence for the frame uses only one or more of the set of allocated subcarriers, and none of the unallocated subcarriers.
