This polysiloxane: comprises a hydrolytic condensation product of a silicon compound that contains a cyclic alkoxysiloxane represented by formula (1) (in the formula, Rgroups each independently denote a substituted or unsubstituted alkyl group having 1-3 carbon atoms, Rgroups each independently denote a substituted or unsubstituted alkyl group having 1-6 carbon atoms, and n denotes an integer between 3 and 8); has at least two hydrosilylable carbon-carbon unsaturated groups per molecule; has at least two hydrosilyl groups per molecule; and in which the inequality 0.25&#x2264;t1&#x3c;1 is satisfied, where t1 denotes the molar ratio of T units having a group represented by Rrelative to all siloxane units in the hydrolytic condensation product. The polysiloxane is addition crosslinkable, and is therefore suitable as a binder component of a heat-resistant paint or the like or as a coating material.

A coating composition comprising a hydrolyzable silyl-containing (meth)acrylic copolymer which is obtained from copolymerization of an alkyl (meth)acrylate with a silane compound having a long-chain alkylene linker between a hydrolyzable functional group and a radically polymerizable unsaturated group, and an organometallic catalyst is low-temperature curable and isocyanate-free. Even though the silane content is increased for coating hardness, the composition maintains alkali resistance and has good adhesion and solvent resistance when applied onto substrates.

Low-temperature cureable coating composition and article having cured coating thereof

A coating composition is provided which contains (A) a co-hydrolytic condensate of a UV-absorbing alkoxysilane, a UV-curable alkoxysilane, and a tetraalkoxysilane, (B) a polyfunctional poly(meth)acrylate, and (C) a photobleachable photopolymerization initiator. Upon exposure to UV, the composition cures briefly at low temperature to form a cured film having durability, adhesion and transparency.

An organosilicon compound is provided comprising an organic functional radical having a photopolymerizable double bond linked to a hydrolyzable radical-bonded silicon atom via a divalent organic radical containing a urea bond. Due to the inclusion of amide, urethane or urea bond structure and a photopolymerizable functional radical, the organosilicon compound has excellent compatibility with resins. The method is capable of preparing the organosilicon compound having a minimal chlorine content.

A photoreactive group-containing siloxane compound is obtained by subjecting a system comprising (a) a photoreactive group-containing alkoxysilane and (b) a hydrolyzable group end-capped dimethylsiloxane to hydrolytic condensation in the presence of a basic catalyst and with an amount of water greater than the amount necessary for hydrolytic condensation of all alkoxy groups. It forms on a substrate a coating having mar resistance, crack resistance, anti-staining effect, and marker ink wipe-off ability.

A thermosetting resin composition which forms a cured coating is provided. This resin composition is capable of providing the supporting substrate with scratch resistance, crack resistance, smudge proof property, removability of oil-base felted markers by wiping, and antistatic property. Also provided is an article having a coating formed from such composition. More specifically, the photocurable resin composition comprises (1) a siloxane compound containing a photoreactive group produced by hydrolyzing and condensing a system comprising (a) photoreactive group-containing hydrolyzable silane represented by formula (i) or (ii), with the proviso that, when one hydrolyzable silane is used, the silane comprises a trifunctional silane, and when two or more silanes are used, at least 70% by mole comprise a trifunctional silane, (b) a dimethylsiloxane containing a hydrolyzable group at opposite ends represented by formula (iii), and (c) a fluorine-containing hydrolyzable silane represented by formula (iv) in the presence of a basic catalyst by using water at an amount in excess of the amount required for hydrolyzing and condensing all hydrolyzable groups; (3) (CF(CF)SO)NLi (wherein m is 0 to 7); and (4) a radical photopolymerization initiator. The article has a coating formed from this composition.

Photocurable resin composition and article having a coating formed by curing such composition

A multi-functional (meth)acrylate compound containing at least three F atoms and at least three Si atoms per molecule is provided. A photocurable resin composition comprising the compound can endow support substrates with antifouling properties with respect to organic stains such as oil mist and fingerprints, without detracting from surface mar resistance.

In a coated article comprising an undercoat and an overcoat on a substrate, the undercoat comprising a compound having a hydrolyzable group-bearing silyl group represented by SiX wherein X is a hydrolyzable group and &ldquo;a&rdquo; is equal to 0, 1 or 2; and the overcoat is based on a composition comprising a silicone resin-containing emulsion resulting from emulsion polymerization of a mixed solution containing (A-1) a silanol group-bearing silicone resin comprising 30-100 mol % of T units and based on the T units, 30-80 mol % of T-2 units, and having a Mn of at least 500, and (A-2) a radical-polymerizable vinyl monomer. Due to a firm bond between the overcoat and the undercoat, the coated article exhibits a weather and water resistance sufficient to withstand long-term outdoor exposure.
